The author could do anything he wanted with that... and yes, dispite my hesitation I ran it... I thought "oh it just has the player imbedded" ~~ but right after that I had spyware... a lot of it........ got it all cleaned up. DYFUCA and a few others were installed. Swimmer Posted February 24, 2004 Author CID Share Posted February 24, 2004 Ok I scanned my computer with 3 different spy ware programs and my computer checked out clean.... then ran the movie and nothing was installed. This is the publish options for Macromedia Flash MX. As you can see .exe is an option. I have also looked into the posiblity of installing spyware using the action script for flash. It is highly unlikely but I guess it could be possible. You would still need to have extra files other then the flash file itself. MICROWAVE Posted February 24, 2004 CID Share Posted February 24, 2004 Well I did think about what Ca3le Guy said before I ran it And I did run several anti-hijacking pgms. after wards,my home page was changed after I ran it, I cant remember the name of it,but it is one I have seen before.I am certain anytime I run that kinda stuff I am opening myself up for problems.Also for the average user who may not have their PC setup to find and KILL that shit it could be a nightmare.Sometimes I think I'm bullet proof but thats not true,It has only been a couple of months ago when I got jacked big time,I even refer to this in some of my old post,I did get rid of it eventually after formatting etc.so I was never able to find out just what and where the bullshit was.Thats why I have to agree with Ca3le Guy on this one not because I'm being an ass kisser but because I agree it is and can be dangerous shit even when it doesn't appear to be causing a problem.Its just the idea of some asswipes putting shit on my PC and knowing how much porn I look at or which site I visit etc....of course it does keep comp techs busy hehehe anyway, blah blah blah~~~ Ca3le Guy must protect HIS site for everyone so I think thats the key issue....have fun and be careful a PC doesn't have a built in jimmy jacket.. However, I am not seeing what you are reporting... the home page change, spyware installed, and other kind of stuff. I might just have my security settings set so that I am not seeing these changes, I have no idea. I have worked with flash for a few months now and I have never seen something like this.
