sharky2009 Posted February 7, 2009 Author CID Share Posted February 7, 2009 Does it matter where ie: what website you visit , that the pictures load slow ? It doesn't matter. Funny thing about it is that it didn't used to always happen. I frequent Realgm.com and NBA.com and they used to popup immediately, but now it's like when I go to those sites my system seems to wait for a full second as if it is opening something then I start receiving data. I payed a visit to both sites, and there is a hesitation on my end as well, for instance, goto cnn.com , it's loading so slow it's sick, tell me how slow or fast yours is there. Using Stopwatch, cnn took me 4.87 seconds. nba.com took me 3.432 seconds realgm.com took me 1.655 seconds. Before though, these sites would pop up automatically in what felt like less than 1/10 of a second. So things are slow enough where you know it's not just busy servers, and that there must be an issue somewhere ? Because your download speed is good. Ping testmy.net, and post your results, while your at it, do a trace route as well.

sharky2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Author CID Share Posted February 8, 2009 Well I'm stumped. Wonder if your video card is suffering, doesn't make sense though, To be continued in the AM............ You have me thinking here...regarding my video card. I did some upgrades using DriverMax and I have noticed some videos quality have not been up to par. Is there any way to confirm or check my video card or reverse or do something to correct/possibly fix or check it out? Really sorry for all the work. mudmanc4 Posted February 8, 2009 CID Share Posted February 8, 2009 I'm not going to get into that just yet, first I suggest you turn on DMA if not already done so, do this via control panel, system, hardware, device manager. Doubleclick on IDE ATA/ATAPI Controllers, Second Tab. There you'll see what DMA setting Windows XP is using.
