CA3LE Posted August 8, 2018 CID Share Posted August 8, 2018 Great article on Motherboard. .. Quote According to the report, tens of millions of AT&T, Verizon, and CenturyLink customers are stuck paying an arm and a leg for last-generation DSL that fails to even meet the FCC’s 25 Mbps definition of broadband. Frequently, these users are paying the same rate for substandard speeds as those in more competitive markets pay for much faster service. mudmanc4 Posted August 8, 2018 CID Share Posted August 8, 2018 Exactly, I've got a client with a DSL subscription who pays $65/monthly for 3Mb/1Mb , the network is more or less useless. Considering ISP csays he is 'last in the line', where the line is flooded with customers before him. Across the road, no one services that area. And the trees block line of site for satellite. Zulublue Posted August 19, 2018 CID Share Posted August 19, 2018 Over here they have to advertise speeds as up to. Example up to 52Mbps. There is talk of making them advertise their average speeds now instead.
