Im on dsl with 1.1 speeds. Its fast enough for me. I only surf to kill time. Download some but not a bunch. Computer is just a time killer for me. working 3 to 11 what else is there to do at mid or 1 am but surff and goof off.

To me speed does matter. I like the fast speeds to download movie trailers and other online video. Also I download a lot of freeware. I can't wait till FIOS is in my town. They're only 1 town away..

hmm only thing i worry about is upload speed. So ya i guess speed does matter on my end.  IF Fios becomes avaliable in my areaill be jumpin on it

1. to download files

2 online for ps2 and xbox

if you just go to internet to go online to pay bills, check email, chat, etc. you really dont need high speed

I depend on a solid connection to get my work done. Anything below 2.5/512 slows me down. But I can make do with  1.5/384 in a pinch. Having a solid upstream connection is important.

speed does matter right up to the point where you are faster than the sites you are tring to access

if the server you are requesting is sitting on a 2 meg upstrem connection and you have a six meg down stream connection

at what speed will the page open? do the math

:shock:what are you talking about connection speed and computer speed matters to me at least but for someone with dial up yeah i do fell srry for them but they should care about speed
