Guest aerodude Posted May 15, 2005 CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 Does this effect your speed?
Shug7272 Posted May 15, 2005 CID Share Posted May 15, 2005 It did mine, when a storm came through it really slowed down. I remember this specifically because I lived in north texas and got storms all the time so downloading porn was outta the question in the afternoon. Just a friendly tip. Guest wmmc Posted May 16, 2005 CID Share Posted May 16, 2005 Right now its 64 with cloud cover and light rain(at times). Not sure the highest or lowest yet.
fikester Posted May 16, 2005 CID Share Posted May 16, 2005 Mine in normally in the upper 70's.......extreme rain will drop it in to the 40's, once it drops into the 30's red flags begin to appear until the signal improves. Speed remains the same until it dips into the 30's....unable to use system at that point.

beagle7 Posted May 16, 2005 CID Share Posted May 16, 2005 I have DirecWay and I love it! Storms do not seem to matter with mine. I live in Northern VT not far from the Canadian border. I understand that signal strength has to do with which band you are on. Some bands have different signal strengths. Maybe I am wrong but I have been on 2 different bands and signal expectations have been different.
silvertoe Posted May 23, 2005 CID Share Posted May 23, 2005 My signal strenth pretty much stays at 89% I do see at 91% time to time. Here is my speed test: :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 1416 Kbps about 1.4 Mbps (tested with 2992 kB) Download Speed is:: 173 kB/s Tested From:: https://testmy.net/ (main) Test Time:: Mon May 23 2005 11:47:32 GMT-0500 (Central Daylight Time) Bottom Line:: 25X faster than 56K 1MB download in 5.92 sec Diagnosis: Awesome! 20% + : 71.84 % faster than the average for host (direcpc.com) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/stats/id-K48T0XS9W After veiwing some of the signal strenths here I feel pretty lucky. One trick I have learned is to keep the sat waxed with a good car wax! However I do have a question. To recieve a stronger signal will the satellite need to be moved? Is the any other options to recieve a stronger signal? Thanks Mike (Louisiana)

php Posted May 25, 2005 CID Share Posted May 25, 2005 assuming you have a DW6000, go to http://192.168.0.1 and click on the system status link on the top of the page
Bird Fan Posted May 25, 2005 CID Share Posted May 25, 2005 Signal Strength- 64 Yeah, I'm on the DW6000. We've had it for a little over a year and we haven't been very happy with it at all. First, they made us get a new computer, and second, the speeds haven't been as fast as they promised.
