organ_shifter Posted June 16, 2005 CID Share Posted June 16, 2005 Nope. Port 80 is not blocked on Comcast. Why does Adelphia block port 80?
dlewis23 Posted June 16, 2005 Author CID Share Posted June 16, 2005 dam, that make me so i think they do it to piss you off, but they say its blocked so you can't run a web server, so i said people can run it over port 8080. Its so not right that they block services and ports from being run on there internet, I pay the high fucken rates they want, then i should be able to runor host anything i want. Can;t wait for verizon FIOS to come to my town.

Thats f***en B/S ill run a server of any kind if i want to. Looks like im going to have to spend the $120 a month to get a dedicated server from rackspace. peepnklown Posted June 16, 2005 CID Share Posted June 16, 2005 VERIZON has already marked the dig sites so it looks like I will be able to get FIOS soon. It seems that ADELPHIA doesn't care that VERIZON is going to more than double their speed at a lower price. I will be leaving ADELPHIA quick when FIOS is ready! Most ISP's don't allow you to run a server unless you have the buisness plan. Some don't seem to bother you unless you're using a lot of bandwith. Mactron Posted June 16, 2005 CID Share Posted June 16, 2005 Verizon does block port 80. So i've heard. They blocked port 80 inbound during the Code Red / nimda days and since only in the ex-BA areas. In the ex-GTE areas ( Thats ME ) it's not blocked. What they are doing on FIOS, I haven't a clue.
xs1 Posted June 16, 2005 CID Share Posted June 16, 2005 Port 80 may be blocked... but you can redirect port 80 connections to come to port xx and it'll work lol. Just may need a no-ip type thing...or something... x_x i just woke up sorry.
