Shug7272 Posted September 19, 2005 CID Share Posted September 19, 2005 Where are you testing from. If home and you have FIOS then great. Looks like a cached download to me, but I dont have time to look up your details since I am at work. Ill look when I can.
chuckle Posted September 19, 2005 Author CID Share Posted September 19, 2005 yeah at home in uk and what is FIOS cheers shug
Shug7272 Posted September 19, 2005 CID Share Posted September 19, 2005 FIOS is a fiber optics extremly high speed connection. What is your connection rated at? What does your ISP say your speed should be. Usually if your DL speed is that high your UL would be higher I would think. Did you mess with the computer while you were testing? Cheers, welcome to the site, always great to see new people.
jws21 Posted September 19, 2005 CID Share Posted September 19, 2005 yeah at home in uk and what is FIOS cheers shug Fios is Fiber to the home being deployed by Verizon here in the U.S. Considering you said you're in the UK dont worry about it. You dont have Fios. Not sure what your speeds are but I dont see a package with a download as fast as yours. so as mentioned its possibly cached. http://www.home.ntl.com/icat/broadband&source=ntlcom_bblink

Elite.Pete Posted September 19, 2005 CID Share Posted September 19, 2005 what does cached mean? All i know is i got a 2mb cable modem with ntl this is all new but very interesting to me a cached test just refers to a test where something went wrong. usually resulting in your speed being reported as extremely high :::.. Ciudatelu Posted September 20, 2005 CID Share Posted September 20, 2005 Not slower, that's more likely your connection... I guess the high speed was just an error... you can't get that speed unless you pay a lot of $$$
chuckle Posted September 20, 2005 Author CID Share Posted September 20, 2005 so if i'm getting such a high reading from this site, whats to say that everyone else isn't getting the same??????
Ciudatelu Posted September 20, 2005 CID Share Posted September 20, 2005 Nope, no one can possibly get that for a 2 Mbps subscription. No way I guess it's something that has to do with your browser... or a download accelerator of some kind that you have installed on your pc.
