ROM-DOS Posted October 22, 2005 CID Share Posted October 22, 2005 Try F8 after boot-up(but before Windows Start up screen) and select 'safe-mode' ~ you might get in as administrator ~ then goto 'User Accounts' in Control Panel' and change everything to your liking. (I think there might be a control key combo you can hold down during 'safe-mode' to bypass passwords?) Or try some googles; http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/win_xp_passwords.htm
wyantm06 Posted October 22, 2005 Author CID Share Posted October 22, 2005 It won't let me bypass through on safe mode either. It still asks for passcode. Man this is making me sad. Dad bought me a laptop and can't use it.
lorne Posted October 22, 2005 CID Share Posted October 22, 2005 Or you can just format and re-install whatever windows OSyou like.
wyantm06 Posted October 22, 2005 Author CID Share Posted October 22, 2005 Anyone else?? Because I can't reformat it because Dell requires special disks for drivers and such. Any other way to bypass this? Thanks

Bird Fan Posted October 23, 2005 CID Share Posted October 23, 2005 You can find all of the Dell drivers from here; just enter your service tag #. http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?~ck=mn
resopalrabotnick Posted October 23, 2005 CID Share Posted October 23, 2005 and if you have a valid key you can activate any winxp pro disc you come across with it. of course this is true only as long as the guy you bought the thing from hasn't reused it himself. your best bet is to get a hold of the previous owner and figure out what's what. Bird Fan Posted October 23, 2005 CID Share Posted October 23, 2005 If you're on XP on the computer you have now, you can get the re-install cd for it and just use it for the laptop (I think that's what everyone else is saying). Personally, I would get a hold of the owner and try to get some money back for having to go through all this shit...
Indestructable Posted October 23, 2005 CID Share Posted October 23, 2005 Hey man, lemme see if I can get you an image of this, just don't tell anyone: http://winternals.com/Products/ERDCommander/ The Locksmith program allows to to change the password on any account, never fails either. The program, ERD Commander, just runs like a live version of windows. Anyone know how to image it?
