How much does broadband cost where you live? My ISP advertising 5mbps

Recommended Posts

download and 500kps upload.  Including evening and weekend high traffic periods, I do average 4+ and pay $27.95/month including their modem.  This is Armstrong Cable in NW part of PA.  I think it is a good price but have nothing to compare it to.

You all will be glad you do not live where I do..Small town only provider of broadband..

My DSL connection 2598898 $110.00 per month  plus $32.00 per month for the phone line. They do have the 5 meg service available now for $150.00 per month.

that really is a good price for 3/896 , especially if it is dsl. You could use that line for hosting easily and maybe make back some money. How much is the 5 meg packages upload?

it is only 1 meg on the upload. The tech guy said I might be able to get 2 meg have to wait and see..I will upgrade to the 5 meg package next week, I have to switch out my modem.

It's $39.95 for 5mbps download speed and 512kbps upload speed through Time Warner Cable in this area.

BUT we use Vonnage for our phone, which means the cost of it is $25.00 per month. And BTW, the service is great. We don't even realize it's there.

Considering that basic phone service here is roughly $70.00 a month, we end up paying $64.95 for cable plus our phone. (Basically the cost of a basic phone bill and a 1 hour long distance call.)

I think it's a bargain.
