CA3LE Posted November 23, 2004 Author CID Share Posted November 23, 2004 By the way, this is not a bullshit 'accelerator' crap program, this actually does not even run after the settings are applied. As with SpeedGuides TCPOptimizer this simple makes a few changes to your registry. This program is free to download, free to use and free to distribute (since this is not my software please read the license agreement for distribution) My personal experience I personally used ProgramCablenutVanBurens cablenut settingsversion 2WinXP_2K_CABLE_DSLMSS1460Cable & DSL 5000 768.ccs This is tested on Cox Communications 5000Kbps Download 768 Kbps Upload package in Phoenix Arizona at 10:20PM --- and I swear these numbers are in no way doctored, I was suprised myself with the difference I gained. Before Settings :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 4782 Kbps about 4.8 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 584 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 85 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 1.75 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cg...st_ID=UHV6PDCBW :::.. VanBuren Posted February 25, 2005 CID Share Posted February 25, 2005 Submitted by j79zlr I have developed a calculator with Mnosteele and Dannjr from DSLNuts [i am a mod there], that you can use for any speed, the general CCS files are convienent, but this is really a better way for you to get your settings, since you can input a different MTU and up/download speeds. It will also generate the CCS file directly for you to download which you can then input into Cablenut. From the cyberwasteland that is Southeast Alaska. welcome mytest...i..cles ... hummm, I never thought I'd welcome 'mytesticles' to my own website. But, oh well. So, the problem you most likely have is the account that your trying this under doesn't have administrative privileges. I'm pretty certain this is your problem. Your probably logged in using a standard account so Windows doesn't give you that option. Let me know if this was the case please. -D
BlueIris Posted February 7, 2012 CID Share Posted February 7, 2012 CA3LE, this happens on all my devices. MacBook, iPhone, Win7-PC. The problem is most likely my ISP, but, what do I do when they send me to speedtest.net and it all runs fine? Am i losing packets? What do I tell them? I know for a fact that they're revamping my local node due to mass utilization. I saw my upload speed restored (had a problem about a few weeks ago when uploads were at 97% utilization at the local node in the area, so they split the node and split the traffic) My downloads improved everywhere but on TMN. And they don't really recognize TMN. So if I could say i am experiencing _________ (data loss, packet loss, TCP/IP double-uber-triple fragmentation) maybe I could say what it is? lol Also, this machine had run TMN just fine, my router is totally fine (factory settings... i didn't screw with it much), same with my MacBook. Both don't do very well with TMN now (see the results posted.)
