it's not minimized. its resized tiny and moved to lower left causing everything but window title to not be shown. you would need an actual program to go through all displayed windows and set the appropriate sizes positions etc. go to the computer science laab at your local college, finds the most unkempt geek, offer him a pizza and you'll have it in 5 minutes.

for finagles sake. STOP HITTING THE "BACK " BUTTON!

Is Comcast going to upgrade the upload ?
resopalrabotnick replied to swodie's topic in Show off your speed
the biggest factor in limiting the upstream is the fact that the cable co's and telcos for that matter don't want you hosting on a connection that has no payperbyte. if you get a connection with a high ul, you will get a contract with a volume plan. -
Competition - COMCAST AND DSL SPEEDS
resopalrabotnick replied to Paladin82's topic in Show off your speed
most streaming content on web is <1 mb/sec. what in the world would anyone /need/ anything faster than a 3 mb or so connection even that is fraggin fast. it's about as useful as those 30 minute photo places. to want that you've got to have some kind of monkey riding your back. that being said, would i mind a connect as fast as fios, no. but would i reach the connections limits with anything other than speedtesting? not likely. let the games begin... and yeah, 15 mbit easy with dsl. if the distance is short enough, say around a mile from dslam. -

even 1 desktop on other side of house is worth drilling half a dozen holes and laying cable. or drill out, go around house, drill back in. heck, with drywall all you need is a screwdriver... -

people installing wlan in a desktop should get their head examined anyhow. and new laptops have it a standard equipment. -

he would probably be even faster if he didn't have aohell slowing him down.

use your microwave to turn your dvds into shrinkydinks. (for those that remember that awesome product)

thyen use wpa. i get a greater speed loss with it, but supposedly it's safer. and it uses handy passphrases, easier to remember and enter. besides, the average user won't need to enter the code on more than 2 or maybe 3 tops machines anyhow. -
aohell might not have 92 million suckers, but i bet they have far more than 92 million screen names on aohell instant infecter.

you mean handheld gps, model airplane parts, a bomb, add coordinates from google and presto, an improvised cruise missile? call it 2500 smackers and 30 minutyes in an internet cafe. now /that/ thought is scarier than a nut with a semtex bodysuit. then again, they could also get the coords by going to target and saving in gps. so shutting google down to prevent the amusement of us law abiding folks wouldn't do much good. on a different note, have you noticed how most of europe is fairly low res, except for some city centers? yet the nude beaches in northern germany and southern denmark, on the north sea coast are surprisingly hi-res.

maybe start a sideline to this thread. who here uses diesel, or would like to, if their vehicle of choice came with the option. (as sadly most suv's and minivans nowadays, except the pricier european ones (bmw x5, vw touareg) don't come with it. accolades to daimler chrysler for throwing the jeep liberty diesel on the market. and for those who haven't done the math yet, most diesels get the sam or better mileage than a comparable hybrid. without the environmentally questionable battery stack of undetermined longevity.

oh, come on. noobs aren't total idiots. it's not the same thing. my m$ mn-700 came with this nice thing called a "manual" and a setup proggy, between the two my cat could have enabled the wep. -

what part of "turn on wep encryption" do they consider a hassle? -
well, you can dump your dl to a window and proofread the stream for virii and trojans, while us high bandwidth folks have to depend on an assortment of software packages for protection.

yeah, what myriagon said. record off the soundcard, then edit, burn. makes sense to save files as wav of course, to not get lossy before burning them. also you might need a preamp if you're going direct off a record player, since their signal is often /very/ low.

mh. i find gas prices here don't faze me. i guess coming from germany and being used to shelling out a buck fifty or thereabouts per liter of regular. (shudders at the thought of owning an suv there).
