First off vbroadway I would like to tell you your installer bold faced lied to you. Are you still in your 30 days from original install? You can still back out if you wish. You could used all but hte modem to redo for $59.95. And that said, DSL 1.5 blows DWay out of the water. Almost anything except dial-up does. After that line he should have to change his shorts. Because he is full of something. So you did try restarting the modem?

The way those dw 4000's are running as of late. I do not blame you at all. Thank goodness one fell my way finally. EVDO by Sprint. It is not DSL, but 10 times better than Dway. Soon the whole sectiion will dry up to dust. Best wishes there.

Radio shack had nothing. It is aqmazing in one way, it blows the hell out of my dway right now during rush hour. I just pulled an 1177/239 and a 1121/287. Dway would still be waiting to warm up. Well according to some info grandpa had me try, it appears to be a signal issue probably. But I have upped the speed considerably, not stable as of yet though. Which is why it appaears to be signal. I have had as high as 1200/300 So I am on the right track at least. Here is the speed with that test coknuck. Overall Average Speed is approximatly 127 KB/sec or 1 Mbps

I have this issue once in a while with mine also. Try this. Go to control panel*classic view*left click system icon*hardware tab*device manager*sound,video, and game controllers*(mine is ATI Unified)name of sound card*Right click*properties*driver tab*uninstall*reboot.

Wish I could rent or borrow one. To make sure. I hate to put out over $50 just to make sure on what may not stay here that long if it does not work that well. And staying with them is another 2 year contract. So I am wringing my hands on this one. I was hoping to hook up, try it for 30 days and know at just that.

First, would it help to try hooking it to a cat 5 cable hooked to an antenae in the attic, I am in the basement. And the antenae cable is just the other side of this wall. Also: It does pull a page in faster, But actual D/L's are much slower. Much different. By the way, it is a TV antenae

Yeah, I will certainly check it out. Part of the problem is I do not want to outlay $$ on a 30 day trial thing. If it would be better if there were a way to fashion a way to fully check it out before hand, that was the reason for it in the first place. The 30 day trial. They did say something about settling in. But I had some issues earlier, in ffact I am on sat right now. Because of it.

The tech asked if I had connection issues when I asked about that and antennaes. Which I relpied, no none. SO unless you know a way to check it, no.

Satelite is satelite, pretty much. It is impossible to overcome it's problems. It will always have lag.

440/50. About the same as the one I took for sprint. Wo also had me test at speakeasy in Chicago also. Other than lag it is no better than my crappy old dway. Really.

It appears after talking to tech support, that the speeds will be way under what satelite is. The speed is like 437 which is above their minimum 300 kbps. Grrrrrrrr. And U/L is supposed to be what ever. So I will probably do the 30 day test, and figure seeing about hughes 7000 Or just sticking with present and seeing what peaks its ugly head around the corner.

Well it was just Easter. And I get hopping when pretty girls go by. But the best part so far is the lack of lag. It seems much better surfing wise. But I will get them to iron out some more, and see if I can get it to hit there famous words of 3.1 megs. Then me and the modem are headed for sex. and I will decide to keep it on then.

One thing for sure, you can tell there is no lag in this compared to satelite. How do you do a tracert again? It has to be better, even though I suspect things still needed straightened out with setting it up. And it did not take much to get old Dlewis going. :2funny:
