Actually there is a DSL slam I believe its called, 2 city blocks from my house. Its just a matter of them thinking its worth it to bring it on down. I even asked what would it cast to have it run on down? Nope when they are good and ready. And not until. Typical AT&T.

Cheap, only uses for emails, old, etc... Hell one guy is still in trouble for getting in the US government with dial up. So it is quite usable.

It says he is on shaw cable. So is it the 256 k, 5,10, or 25 meg setup? And welcome to the forum.

We have all been there. I lost one over crap in the puter. Hard lesson.

First she does not have the restore CD's. And someone said boot & nuke would remove her built in recovery. So trying to work with that also.

I figure everything is trash in a reformat. I still say a full blown safe mode no networking first though. Slow, but saves stuff. And take the restore points out also. Dump anything not wanted badly. IF that does not work, format then.

It has grown, hasn't it. I just post when I find something, and once in a while go back and read, and so many views also. I guess it was bigger than I figured when I first did it just to show the feelings on the subject. I just knew that more people are patriotic than the media and such lead on to believe. Isn't America beautiful? To help some understand American patriotism is to say we are proud of our heritage and history. Beyond the few bad things, its a GREAT country yet.

One question again. I think it was answered before. So if recovery is a seperate partition, does it still get wiped? My last emachine and this gateway have recovery seperate. Just curious if a wipe would erase that too?
