  1. Maybe it was just something from the ISP's end
  2. Allowing any incoming ICMP attempts allows the tracert to work.. Just make an exception for all programs, all IPs to allow all incoming ICMP connections and it's going to work fine .. Thanks for the info Swimmer
  3. I got IE SP1 too.. I dind't know there was an SP2.. (Does SP2 come with the os service pack SP2?).. I'm not even going to install SP2, cuz of the comments I get about it .. lol
  4. I think I may have seen a part of it in school once, but it may have been a different movie.. Its good for learning how MS got started and how Apple was made in a garage (not an apple, the Apple pc )
  5. There's FF 1.0.6 (stable) and 1.5.0 (beta) versions out right now.. I think there is also a 1.0.7 version which fixes the IDN security problem
  6. The only caught connections i see in my firewall logs are from different IPs to port N/A's on my pc.. Only rule that has ports N/A listen in firewall exceptions and is not checked is Multicast Address (Incoming and Outgoing).. I'm guessing that's the problem, but I won't try it now, cuz I don't want to restart my pc after trying tracert with those N/A ports open and then restarting the pc after disabling it to make it work.. I'll keep it in mind for the future though
  7. That'd be a typical case for psychology students to study.. Drop-out, make a milti-billion dollar business, come back and buy the school, get your degree.. CYCLE OF EDUCATION!!! LOL
  8. You cannot download it from the Internet right now.. Sorry And btw rayray909, you had firefox 1.0.4 installed, which is outdated by a couple of months from the current version
  9. Where do you see that?On all virus and firewall websites Trend Micro Internet Security is #1..
  10. Now he can buy Harvard
  11. Its kinda true, but 1000 songs seem pretty good anyways.. And for phones, u gotta pay bills
  12. Yea.. Opera is pretty good now.. And its free.. Definitely worth checking out, but I think Avant Browser had the same capabilities a long time ago.. Anyways, Opera is free!!
  13. I don't know about Kaspersky, but Trend Micro is the best on the market.. I strongly recommend it
  14. Its AdBlocker sure works fore me, and the security info cleaner ain't that bad either.. Pretty good for a free app, but the cleaner takes a long time to complete its cleaning if it includes the garbage thingy that's on the control panel.. Pretty good prog otherwise.. That's why its in the top20 downloads of download.com
  15. I have a software firewall as well as a router running.. Maybe my ISP blocks the attempts at all.. I don't see any blocked attemps by my firewall (to any external IP or from any port on my system).. I don't think my router blocks those ports either.. Ah well, ping works fine, tracert doesn't.. I'll just live with that
  16. IE doesn't itself block ads.. There are programs that are used along side with IE to block ads (e.g.: tookbars, security programs), but FF has extensions or even software programs that do the same thing and most of them are free and always spyware free!!!
  17. I tried one of VanBuren's cablenut tweaks from older version settings files (v2) for 3000/384 connection, but I noticed no change in speeds myself..
  18. Looks nice.. I may try it.. Its got a lot of features and its free.. Have any comments for it if u used it?
  19. When i go into the command prompt and type "tracert *some site*", it always times out.. Is this a DNS server problem from my end or something to do with windows.. It "times out" on all sites I tried.. (testmy.net, yahoo.com, google.ca, msn.com).. Its not a problem, just a question which I wondered about
  20. I bet those users have no security protection from viruses and hackers anyway, so it was just a matter of time
  21. Here is the Cablenut website, in case you haven't downloaded the program.. Here are VanBuren's v7 settings files as well..
  22. U mean chrome errors and messages asking you to install additional plugins for the webpage such as Macromedia Flash Player, Java, etc?
  23. Maybe its cuz I use ad-blocking software in IE .. But sometimes it loads it very fast
  24. Have you tried cablenut and its tweaks yet?
  25. Sometimes it loads fast for me, sometimes it does not (usually when I log out from Hotmail )
