Is it a nicer blue screen that older versions of windows or is it the same nasty blue color, which sends shivers down my spine with the somewhat nasty DOS writing accompanying it?
-
Its probably cuz on default, WinXP restarts the pc whenever there is a blue screen/fatal error (instead of showing a blue screen)

I have only heard good reviews about that store too (no complaints about part quality or anything), but the normal price is 70$ more (189.99), so the parts are not that expensive in the first place
-
I never had any major problems with it too.. Hope it continues that way .. 500th post.. YEAH
-
think why it is so cheap.. motherboard + cpu + 256mb or ram for 119$.. hmm.. maybe faulty parts.. i may be wrong and it could be a normal sale, but i won't buy it.. anyone buy it and try it yet?

Windows Vista is the new high-tech Microsoft Operating system.. Before it was called Longhorn..

Maybe now they'll make Google Space for finding stars

In my opinion, if its not a file (e.g.: .exe) or some key in the registry its not a big deal, but I delete them anyways.. There's nothing to lose by deleting them except the ppl that track them down -
That game looks cool.. I played the first one for a bit, so I'll give this one a try..

take a look here, here and here for Celeron vs. P4 benchmarks.. Maybe its not 3 times slower, but a bit slower for the speed of a P4 with the same processor speed.. Anyways, they heat up under pressure, so I'll stay with the P4's.. Saving a buck vs. overheating my pc components .. I'll give a few more bucks for a better processor.. Anyways they say the performance difference is because of the L2 caches.. I don't know if its true, but I prefer other processors
-
A friend of mine had a Celeron.. I dont know if it was a D or anything, but on NFSU2, you could fry eggs on the pc case.. And I think the formula for Celeron speeds are P4 or AMDs divided by 3.. celeron 2.4ghz = 800mhz p4 .. something like that
-
Does that Celeron D work slower than P4s and AMDs that have the same processor speed even though its got 533fsb? Cuz I have the feeling that all Celerons work slow and heat up fast .. Is that true for all of them? What about for this one?
-
Its pretty good for that low price, but I don't like the Celeron processors.. Always processing information slow.. And memory is only 266mhz frequency on dual channel.. .. Still good for the money, but its just not enough for me

I got this huge Trend Micro Proxy log file (TmProxy.log) in the program's log folder that is 4GB.. Anyone know what its for? I deleted it and i have yet to face the consequences of deleting it (if there are any - hope not ).. I did not notice it before, but after defragging my hdd, the windows defrag pointed this out as fragmented 4.00GB file that could not be repaired.. Anyone else have this? No consequences for deleting it so far.. Its just a log file anyway.. There's a new one there now.. It logs what .dll's were loaded .. Anyone know why it was 4GB or if u got this too?

Is there any damage in defragging you hard drive often? Or is that just another of those pc myths that are just not true.. Cuz a friend of mine that works with computers (repair of pcs) told me that with older hard drives, after defragging them, they may just quit on you or not work at all.. Is that true for new hard drives as well, or are both of those statements just false?

Same thing happened again.. Internet just shut off now.. Nothing is able to load.. Upon restarting the router from IE (from its options), it locked up and I wasn't able to log in, log out, nothing.. .. After disconnecting it for a mere 5-6 seconds and then plugging it back it, the internet got up again, but with a different IP address.. However, same thing happened (internet shut down after a minute or so of browsing).. After that I unplugged both the modem and router (like I did before), but this time I left them off for a good couple of minutes.. I didn't take the cables out of them however, so I can eliminate that as the problem.. Any ideas as to what the source of this problem might be? I'm usually restarting my modem every night (turn it off for about 10 secs and back on), but i never restart my modem by unplugging it (or give it a break of a few hours).. Could it be of overheating of the router or something? Line quality problem, which I don't think it is because after leaving the router off for a couple of minutes, my internet is back on and good for 1-2 weeks or so.. Could it be a routing IP change from the ISP, which the router didn't take normally? Any help would be appreciated as I don't like going through this thing every 2 weeks .. Thanks EDIT: Here are my signal quality levels from the modem: Downstream Status Operational Channel ID 3 Downstream Frequency 615000000 Hz Modulation ??? Bit Rate 42884296 bps Power Level -10.7 dBmV Signal to Noise Ratio 34.8 dB Upstream Status Operational Channel ID 2 Upstream Frequency 32496000 Hz Bit Rate 10240000 bps Power Level 44.0 dBmV

They just come and go.. Its not your browser's or your pc's fault.. Its the server that's having temp. problems

I got 8 right.. I only got the RSS and grinding, knitting and pulling questions wrong.. Its not a very good quiz to show how much of the pc jargon u know, but it only took 1 min to complete..

IE is not that bad.. It just crashes from time to time for me and that's why I don't like it very much right now
