I agree with the other posts.. Its a beta (developer) version.. Even the finished versions of windows have many flaws/bugs.. Why download and use a beta, which still has many unknown flaws to it..?

My vote goes to Trend Micro Internet Security Suite.. I tried it before and it appeared very good.. It comes with both very effective antivirus and firewall.. Now I use other free antivirus, but this suite was the best! Update feature in it took some time though..

Good job to the site owners! 42 mil visitors per week is pretty good.. If the site visitors increase in the future, I hope that the quality and speed of the site will remain the same!

i agree that it is not from windows.. maybe post a Hijackthis log.. it will tell us if its a program (spyware) or windows, or if windows got infected by that spyware..

Like people before said, go into Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs. What they didn't mention was that you should click on remove Internet Explorer and after that on Repair. It will ask you to reboot, but I am not entirely sure if that will help your problem with SP2.. If IE worked fine when you installed it with SP2 for the first time, then it will probably be fixed after the repair, because it reads off the msi or cab file that you used to install it the first time ..

I would've said the same as the post above (more or less). After rebooting in safe mode and deleting that file, your pc should be clean.

For wallpapers, open the image file in Microsoft Paint, go to File -> Set as Background. There are 2 options there.. Although I never did it this way except once, I think centered will work the best. If the access to the Display dialog was denied, then a message should come up saying that.. That's how it is in my school. Maybe it is a virus or spyware that does that, or windows just screwed up. For free online antivirus scan, try the Trend Micro website . Ad-aware is the best for spyware - both effective and user friendly. If you want a free antivirus program for your computer, you could download AVG free antivirus. I don't know if repair on windows would work, but I don't think it is a Video driver too.. Do other options in Control Panel still work (i.e.: System)?

There are many free programs which can help you check your RAM, CPU and other stuff in your pc. One free program which tends to be for the more advanced pc users is RMMA. Another one is CPUZ. CPUZ includes the basic info from RMMA, but is easier for the newer and more inexperienced PC users. After running CPUZ, click on the SPD tab and it will tell you your memory size, type and maybe maunfacturer..
