  1. Oh yes For some reason I think you know that --- Given from your other scores I just looked at... you always get around that score... I wish I got 6Mbps on a 3MB test file :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 4767 Kbps about 4.8 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 582 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 85 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 1.76 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=6A86FCFFA You have nice upload stats too by the way
  2. Looks like you are getting what you pay for ~~ Does Adelphia in your area offer 5Mbps / 768 Kbps package yet? ~~ If so you should be able to upgrade for about 15/month ~~ maybe if you game enough it would be worth it to you. Any tweaks that we would tell you would involve windows... your XBOX may run slower than what you are getting with your PC.
  3. Rocky and Bullwinkle rule... god I haven't seen them in forever!
  4. cross hatching --- very nice And yea... I am strange ~~ Adam is only a wierdo
  5. He did scratch the crap out of me.. but I don't think he'll bite
  6. Yea I will authenticate your stuff tonight... if I get a second Umm yea, that was some big days there... It was bad traffic for me though because at the time my advertisers did not pay for non USA traffic -- so all these people came... sucked up my a bunch of my bandwidth and didn't contribute and revinue towards server cost... but it was cool to have at the time because my traffic was 1/5th what it is today and it's just felt cool Highest record is hitting my cap of 30Mbps -- I have had a friend pull 80Mbps from his server on a hidden 50MB test I have ---
  7. Oh no, I have had many more than that... One time I had over 800 (i can't remember the exact number I saw). Some Russina blog linked to me and sent me over 10,000 people in like 2 days... it was a very large burst of traffic But I have seen 200 since then on a couple occasions -- In about another year I estimate it will sit at over 500 ppl most of the time. - Damon
  8. Why thank you... still more to come
  9. I never used any of that software.. I just tweaked Xp
  10. This is the only section of the forums where login isn't required... I want anyone to be able to post suggestions.... .... why don't you use "Auto Login" anyways ...
  11. I tweaked windows :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 4782 Kbps about 4.8 Mbps (tested with 2992 KB) Download Speed is:: 584 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 85 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 1.75 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=WA8FM28OA
  12. Do me a favor and report your upload stats.. I just made a huge update to the upload test, alot more accurate. I found something huge that I have been over looking for quite some time. Like you to kinda beta test the accuracy for me.
  13. I can't get anything off that test :::.. Download Stats ..::: Connection is:: 205 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 2304 KB) Download Speed is:: 25 KB/s Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line:: 4 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 40.96 second(s) Validation Link:: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=0L33E4U9I hehe
  14. Well first of all tell him to go to home depot and get some barrel connectors ... you know like these... Then tell him to by pass all his splitters (hopefully he only has one splitter if the tech how installed everything was smart all the lines in the house should be home run... meaning that there are strait lines to each tv or modem or whatever with no splits along the way. After he by passes the splitters tell him to unplug the modem for like 10-15 seconds --- just to make sure everything is reset. then tell him to test afterwords and see what he gets -- if he hasn't already done so tell him to use this >> https://www.speedguide.net/files/TCPOptimizer.exe ~ works great. Now if everything works great after that he either has a bad splitter or is getting too low of a signal after the splits - then if you call Cox and tell them "If i by pass the splitter it works fine" and the splitter is on the side of your house... and the tech doesn't need to come inside the house, you should not be charged for the 49.95 service call --- if the problem is inside your house here is what you can do to get around the service call. Just call in and order "Cox Service Assurance Program" or CSAP for short - it is 3.95/month and gives you free service calls -- but you will need to suffer a month before you call in for the service call otherwise they will charge you anyway. Hope this helps, he should not be getting speeds that slow... but also keep this in mind, Cox HSI and most non TIER1 services do not guarantee any specific level of service -- Cox does not ever say "you WILL get 4Mbps" they say "you will get UP TO 4Mbps" which is a big difference. Tell your friend to join the forum by the way -- that is of course if this friend isn't you --- "Dad I need to talk to you about something... I got this friend who likes this girl... but the girl is really a guy, what should my friend do." "Well Billy, first of all your a little homo. Second of all, your not really my son." I always wanted to see that episode on Growing Pains or The Cosby Show .. hehe
  15. http://www.ovum.com/ --- but their publications are locked unless your a member just try this google search > http://www.google.com/search?q=%22tcp%2Fip+vs+ATM&hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&safe=off
  16. ATM has been commonly hailed as the answer to bandwidth-intensive networks, as it allows for simultaneous transmission of different types of data such as video and sound over the network. TCP/IP, on the other hand, is a sequential way of transmitting data over the computer network. It chunks data into packets and send them one after the other, and thus, slowing down transmission of bandwidth-heavy data. TCP/IP was adopted as the main protocol for transmitting data over the Internet. Despite popular notion, asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) will not be the leading technology in the future of broadband networking, a recent study said. Instead, development will be driven by competitive factors, including the adoption of TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol)-based applications which will allow a variety of alternative approaches, said a study by Ovum, a firm of independent telecommunications and information technology analysts. The findings come in Ovum's report, "The Future of Broadband Networking: ATM vs. TCP/IP."
  17. I am editing your post for your own sake, even if you type it like that some bots have been written smart enough to grab that also ~~~ People can just PM you through the site, per my privacy policy you are 100% safe here -- damn email scavenging bots
