I actually have a wireless network at my house too (802.11g) I don't use the wireless anymore because I only had it for my laptop and I don't have that anymore, so my other 4 are hardwired... But anyway, even though your connection is capable of up to 108 Mbps (you may have the 54 Mbps version) there are many factors that come into play with wireless such as interference and loss from distance. So my question to you is... are all of your computers on wireless? If so, why? The easiest fix is to go Ethernet to your main (fastest) PC, your router is most likely RIGHT next to it anyway... if not, just relocate your router to the room with your main PC and use that as your central location and go wireless from there... the other PC's are okay and now your main PC will be cool. I personally like wired... It adds equity to your home it's faster and it's more kick ass (I have a closet in my house full of equipment the routes my phone, cable and internet --- it's fun to show off to company ) Post again if this is still unanswered. - Damon

You may have noticed the cut and paste section at the bottom of the test results page, makes it easier to post scores. I have also given the upload test and authentication code that is seprate from the download auth code... so people can't use that code to act like their upload is the shit here is my most recent scores. :::Download Stats::: Connection is: 2375 kbps about 2 Mbit Download Speed is: 290 Kb/sec Auth Code: 2035626 (validate a http://www.testmy.net) Bottom Line: 42 times faster than 56K you can download 1MB in 4 second(s) :::Upload Stats::: Connection is: 248 kbps about 0 Mbit Upload Speed is: 30 Kb/sec Auth Code: 253721 (Validate at http://www.testmy.net) Bottom Line: 7 times faster than 56K, you can upload 1MB in 34 second(s)

That's because I work my friggen ASS OFF, tring to sell the WORLD cable tv, phone, and internet ... The database shit is driving me NUTZ! ~~ not for this site, but for a sales tracking tool at work... mySQL is making me pull my hair out ~~ AHHHHHHHHHHH! It's going to be about a year before I get the connection logging back up here, because I want to do it right... my last attempt worked GREAT untill it hit like 40,000 posts, then every querry took like 2 days to pull ~~ if I do it in SQL it won't have that problem........ AHHHHHHHHHHHHH, but THEN if I do that I should do the script in PHP instead of PERL and blah blah ... yea ~~ a year !!

I found the server that was in error. Try again. I have also updated the script so that if this happens in the future, you just click re-test and the test script will offer up another testing link... from another server. Thank you Phatsam and keep testing... If you still have a problem, then there is a possiblity that whatever browser you are using is caching the test page... VERY highly unlikely since the way I wrote the script spoofs browser cacheing. But i guess if you had a wierd ass "make your browsing faster" crap add on that MIGHT happen... if that is the case DUMP that program, those are SO lame for broadband (bad ass for dial-up though) if you have a fast connection why would you want to cache everything and risk the chance of viewing old outdated pages??? But I seriously doubt this scenario. -~~ Late Phatsam! - CA3LE6UY!
