  1. thanks Just , I have heard that advice b4 , but I worry about the antiglare coating on the screen, I have seen that used on house windows though and with perfect results, me and my screen are paranoid I guess ,
  2. Yeah it's fun when it's the works machine, but it would make mad if it was mine , great way to get a upgrade at work though
  3. Hi Sparticus013, you could be right (Eh ) but I once cleaned a CRT monitor that was on, with a WET cloth , the flash was unbelievable , and it was still OK after, but I have adopted the cautious approach ever since
  4. WW1&2 and onwards ..................................................................................... You who sleep in Flanders Fields, Sleep sweet - to rise anew! We caught the torch you threw And holding high, we keep the Faith With All who died. We cherish, too, the poppy red That grows on fields where valor led; It seems to signal to the skies That blood of heroes never dies, But lends a lustre to the red Of the flower that blooms above the dead In Flanders Fields. And now the Torch and Poppy Red We wear in honor of our dead. Fear not that ye have died for naught; We'll teach the lesson that ye wrought In Flanders Fields ................................................................................................ 5. Hi Beathemdown , We haven't spoke b4 , anyway ,Welcome from me ,to the forum, I just faced that problem a month back with my first LCD monitor, I followed the manufactures advice, with the monitor turned off for a least one hour, I used a damp soft cloth, with mild detergent, (liquid soap ) well watered down , that got rid of the fingerprints but left streaks, so I used another soft cloth and sprayed a non-silicon glass cleaner onto the cloth, and used that, and finished with a gentle wipe over with another soft cloth , result back to as new , You can get special screen cleaners from puter stores , but I have never tried them , hope this helps , Roco UK

  9. Lol I can only speak as a home computer user , I have 2 puters , one on XP home and one on Xp Pro in my view Xp home is Mickey mouse on tranx , Back up Xp Pro for the home user has the great A.S.R (automated system recovery ) the greatest get me out of the shit tool I have ever come across, and makes it well worth the extra cost , that is as long as you have a partitioned H/D or a second one, and who doesn't , you haven't ? think about it , it makes sense , you only have to do it once, and sleep well for ever more
  10. Ah, that explains all , I just got off win 95 , it must be the generation gap and wasup with M.E. sounds like a fast lady to me , yeah don't tell me Sparticus013, you loaded the computer , tight GIT
  11. Halloween came and went in the UK , new harassment laws just about killed it off , my local Police force ( Surrey UK ) reported no incidents , relating to Halloween. but had all officers on standby (extra payment ) all they had too report whos's a murder or 2 not related to Halloween, so that ends well
  12. , Sparticus013, joking aside, if she would like an e-mail friend from the UK ,for gossip or the news , PM me , born 1907 ? she must a have one hell of a lot of thoughts we must not loose, my hat is off to the lady, Sincerely yours, Roco UK
  13. Thanks for the views on this , the hype nearly got to me I built this puter 2.1/2 years back , 2.8 athlon , 1 Gb ram 2 H/Drives etc. the use is just the average Joe , email , few family pics, TMN , etc. but I was begining to think I should start again, guess I will stay as I am for a year or so ,

  16. Hi coknuck , lawyer !!!! , lets make the whole world safe, when it hits them they don't now why , but you can be sure they will sue , Yeah I share your feelings about craftsman built things , we now have a strong preservation thing in the UK, far too late IMHO, but it is working , otherwise what will be left for future generations to learn from , but money still talks , if they want something down , burning is the easy way I spent a year of my life fighting as a Eco warrior to save a centre from ww1 & 2 for Canadian wounded soldiers , it included a art deco theatre and a historic workhouse from the 18 century , we nearly won, but it burnt down by accident now it has been redeveloped as a upmarket housing estate ,all I got was beaten around a bit , and put on a Gov. list , ooh , sorry I am nearly getting into a rant , regards Roco UK

  22. Luckly for us in the UK , and thanks to the Norman invasion, 1066 ,we have good History records of our past , maybe not a good record of deeds done , , but it is written , P.S. the movies I have seen Bambi (Walt Disney ) easy rider , midnight cowboy , so I guess that makes me a movie buff IMHO life is for living, not watching others acting it ,
