  1. Dont business limit their patrons to 8 Mb per sec. I have seen this on the speakeasy site. My Dad has some big bandwidth for his whole office building but has never seen it say "downloading at 1MB per sec". He has gotten 980KB+ some times. O yea, Can you really put a 15 Mbps line to good use? Like, you moving a couple hundred MBs a day? lol. I think more people could use the 2Mb upload to is full potental then the download...
  2. If I find this at my modem page: Maximum Downstream Bandwidth 4823450 Maximum Upstream Bandwidth 463051 Are my caps this number divided by 1000 or this number divided by 1024? I guess im trying to confirm that bits use 1000 and bytes use 1024.
  3. Hey guys, how does the "GeForce FX 5700 LE" compare to a regular FX 5700? LE = Limited edition? Some of these letter codes are a step up (XT , Pro) and other a step down (SE). What about LE?
  4. testmy.net would not give you a 3MB download test if your going so fast.
  5. I have an advertized speed of 4000/384 My cap is 4800/450 Im in the middle at 4200/433 I once got a test of 3 Megabytes per sec (22,000Kbps), when the test would load and the ''timer" would not start till late
  6. By that Im average at 12 million bytes per hour. PHP has 5 million per hour Netmasta has 16 Million per hour. Netmasta is moving data ... at um... 260 KB per min Cool guys
  7. thanks , I just added 6 million in 25 min, sound like yours?
  8. Once that is figured out, I got another question I got a computer that transfers millions of packets per hour and another computer the moves 100,000 packets per hour. The difference is to much to be my time spent, and too consistantly high. What do you guys have?
  9. REH, are you on adelphia premier with a cap of 7Mbps or something? Im caped at 4.8Mbps on regular adelphia.
  10. I have a computer with 2 hard drives, the first, old and nearly full, the second, new and 20% full. I would like to know if the uncached speed of the hard drive plays some part in the speed of the virtual memory. (Which I know to be significantly lower then physical memory) I have an old 8GB hard drive with uncached speed of 11MB / per sec & on the same computer I have a new 80BG hard drive with uncached speed of 52MB / per sec If I had the second hard drive providing the virtual memory and not the first, will the virtual memory preformance improve?
  11. Trace route to Testmy.net
  12. Your getting 90% of your advertised speed. Thats good.

  16. Why is it that on 10Mbps Full duplex I have speeds of about 3Mbps & On 100Mbps Half duplex I have speeds of 4Mbps to my cap at 4.7Mbps I have done upload and download tests at the same time in two different windows and I have seen little difference, but yes some difference.
  17. Your adverised speed is 3000/384, and you have cablenut 3000/384...processor is 900Mhz... hum... Direct from dslnuts definitions: http://www.dslnuts.com/2kxp.shtml DefaultReceiveWindow - The number of receive bytes that AFD buffers on a connection before imposing flow control. For some applications, a larger value here gives slightly better performance at the expense of increased resource utilization.
  18. Duffman, I have tried using cablenut on a slow processor and the increased load is to great. Now I am waiting on the processor rather then on the bandwidth. Could this make sence on your system?
  19. I clicked on download test 2992KB and took 20 seconds to load the page. By then the test was already loaded and ... thats whats happens on full dulex. It does not work.
  20. Its not real. Im caped at 4.7Mbps and the tests took 2 min to load!
