  1. I was told a few months ago to just wait a few weeks for time warner to get set up. My adelphia cap is still in place...
  2. What speeds are you suppost to be getting from Wild Blue and what are you receiving? Is your internet speed changing throughout the day? I see here http://www.wildblue.com/forYourHome/ ValuePak = 512/128Kbps SelectPak = 1Mbps/200Kbps ProPak = 1.5Mbps/256Kbps While I dont know alot about Satalite, I do know it is often the connection with the most Latency. I might suggest that you look in the WildBlue forums if you have not already. >> http://www.testmy.net/b-78 <<
  3. Thats what I normally get from RR, and I am formerly adelphia. Look at my sig.
  4. Doesn't that just increase your burst speed? and the speed per minute is the same?
  5. This might be (accually it is) old: http://www.moveutilities.com/roadrunner/index.html Basic 1.5Mbps (details) $34.95 upload speeds of up to 384Kbps. Standard 4.0Mbps (details) $44.95 upload speeds of up to 512Kbps. Extreme 6.0Mbps (details) $54.95 upload speeds of up to 768Kbps. These three were offered when i searched in San Diego. I also got digital phone + digital cable + internet combined package for one price.
  6. If a human ate in proportion to a lion, they would have 50 Cheeseburgers a meal (how many meals does a lion have?). Americans that consume Coca Cola are likely to ingest 100Lbs of sugar a year. Over the course of your life you will shed 40Lbs of dead skin cells. One quarter (or is it 1/3) of the world's population does not know how to make a phone call. The most recognized phrase in the world is "OK". The second most recognized phrase in the world is "Coca Cola". trillion = 1 with 12 zeros Googol = 1 with 100 zeros = 10100 = 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 googolplex = 1 with a google of zeros P.S. When my brother was in kindergarten the teacher said googolplex was not a number.
  7. There is a slight difference but nearly nothing after restarting router and modem. Is it possable that msn.com for example does not want anyone doing a trace route to them for ... security reasons? There are definitly some good reasons to not alow traceroutes to "important" servers. Getting 3600 - 3980kbps on a connection capped at 4Mbps is fine by me. Now, if the cap was moved to 5Mbps I would reach the RR average of 4700kbps.
  8. google.com = 33% loss yahoo.com = 33% loss dogpile.com = 33% loss msn.com = 100% loss pcpitstop.com = 33% loss nytimes.com = 100% loss flowers.com = 33% and 66% loss breadstick.com = 100% loss pizzahut.com = 33% loss
  9. Only 2 out of every 3 packets makes it to the destination. Or am i miss reading?
  10. Ok ty DjVaGGo, I guess I sould be happy with reaching 99.3% of my capped line Whats up with my trace routes?
  11. I belive that Im paying for 5 Mbps/384 Kbps roadrunner but having downloads closer to 3500Kbps and 33% packet loss is disturbing. I might be capped at 4Mb but If RoadRunner does not have a 4Mb service something strange is going on. 12. This first link did a encoding test of a 436 MB video file from 720x480 pixels to 320x240 pixels @ 30 fps & 282Kbps. http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2004.html?modelx=33&model1=64&model2=18&chart=28'>http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2004.html?modelx=33&model1=64&model2=18&chart=28 http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2004.html Just try the links, theres more info then I dare to type. Some companies intendionaly make it difficult for you, by using non standard screw spacings or using a uniquely shaped power connector
  13. So far RR is slower then when i had Adelphia at 4000 down
  14. Going from 2.4GHz to 3.0GHz will not be a huge improvement. If your upgrading to a processor that has hyperthreading (I think im using the right term) or other technologocial advancments. Then it will be noticable. A faster CPU even with the same video card should be a improvement. Concerning memory, Do some tests of your own to see what your programs use memory wise. Maybe half gig memory for internet, 1Gig for games, 2 Gig for video editing, I dont know what you use your computer for. PS. side note - my 3.0GHz's temp prompted me to get a case fan and 2.4 with a 25% improvment = 3.00
  15. Someone once had a sig that went like this: (If (computer geek) = (true) (then, high five) (hand shake) If (computer geek) = (false) (then, kick out door) (throw rocks at) Who had this sig with his car photo under the text? Can I have a copy of orignal, I really like it.
  16. "Bandwidth 2000GB" What are they talking GigaBytes for? They are missing some info there.
  17. "The record-breaking machines are typically cooled down using nitrogen or cascade cooling systems."

  20. well thats incredible! Im wondering your age and education. cholla, 1 free question of the day, pay to take a full test. I was suggesting the single question.
  21. Well it makes sence that those with a math mind like this site. Also, since were on somewhat intelligent grounds: SAT question of the day: http://www.collegeboard.com/apps/qotd/question Descriptive Classifications of Intelligence Quotients
  22. One year ago I got a IQ 115 on this test. Two months ago... "Congratulations, Blake! Your IQ score is 127 This number is based on a scientific formula that compares how many questions you answered correctly on the Classic IQ Test relative to others. Your Intellectual Type is Visual Mathematician. This means you are gifted at spotting patterns - both in pictures and in numbers."
