  1. hey h1tman and welcome to the forum run this test and lets see whats settings you are running http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks when you get result, copy the URL adress and paste it here so we can see it If you didnt make a backup of your registry with TCP Optimizer you need to redownlaod it so we can clean up using that tool, you find it here https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1013.0 but lets first see what settings you have, maybe its not a big deal VanBuren
  2. delete all tweaks, and call your ISP, cos you have some big problems in the net and no tweaks can fix that, even tho the route is fine you can loose packets and have to retransmit them. open cablenut, click delete cablenut tweaks + click save to registry reboot VanBuren
  3. oh you was on dial up, then you should try to force 1500 as MTU, if i remember it right default is 576 In cablenut program its very easy, just set your MSS ( maximum segment size ) to 1460 what does the tweaktester say your MTU is? http://www.dslreports.com/tweaks i will check my guest book then VanBuren
  4. I use Norton Internet Security 2005 and it works great, but i agree its too bad you need to disable firewall to run test it take some RAM, but overall its worth it, so easy to use and alot of features. VanBuren
  5. hey jakop yea twice your cap thats l33t score for sure VanBuren
  6. heya monkhoous your cap is 1500 and you get 1491 Kbps you wont go faster then that, the tweaktest looks good be happy VanBuren
  7. hey bamatide If you had a very high usage of memory when you was on 256 MB and the computer had to use virutal memory from your hard drive, i can understand that it speeded up abit for you reading and writing memory to a hardrive is so much slower then from a RAM stick. a good tip is to defrag your hardrive once in a while, cos you will always have some memory as viritual VanBuren
  8. Now it looks good it wont get any better then this, happy surfing VanBuren
  9. Try this if you have used TCP Optimizer or Dr.Tcp you need to clean up abit if you have a backup of your registry, from before you used any tweaks, run that if not , open Dr:Tcp or TCP Optimizer, where you see Network adapter MTU value, clear that field so its blank for all adapters, also make sure every setting is blanked out or set to default, then click save. now install cablenut 4.08 https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;id=64 [testmy.net] download this file i attach Cable & DSL 256 64.zip after you installed cablenut, unzip the zipfile to C:ProgramCablenut open cablenut adjuster, in top left corner click file, click load custom settings file browse to C:ProgramCablenutCable & DSL 256 64.ccs and dubble click now click save to registry and reboot your pc good luck VanBuren
  10. ping to first hop is kinda high, you can try rebooting your modem and router, leave them off for 30 seconds and make a new tracert i will make a tweakfile for your MTU of 1400, i dont have time now but it will be done in 40 minutes and then i post again VanBuren
  11. It should only take a few seconds, try disable firewall during the test, it might help click start ----> wait 5 seconds ---- > click result good luck VanBuren

  14. hey Reverend It would be great if you could add this to Guides, also how to tweak DW systems for speed, just email CA3LE VanBuren
  15. Cablenut work for all types of connections, but there is no tweaks made for DW6000 so you need to edit those values by yourself. Alot of ppl does not recommend tweaking DW6000, and some ppl have done tweaks and say they work but im not sure if its just burst speed when you test speed make sure to use atleast 2992 KB test to make sure burst is not fooling you good luck VanBuren
  16. no problem and good luck VanBuren
  17. yes, just open cablenut and click delete cablenut tweaks and click save to registry + reboot now all windows default values is loaded VanBuren

  19. then try this file Cable & DSL 1000 128 it has a higher RWIN, it can speed up but if you loose packets the speed might go slower it wont hurt trying follow the steps in my prevoius post and use this file instead good luck VanBuren

  24. hey cholla and welcome to the forum check this thread https://testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=1092.0 there is no need to set MTU Path MTU detection is enabled by default check this http://www.dslnuts.com/9xme.shtml quote "19. PMTUDiscovery - Setting this parameter to 1 (True) causes TCP to attempt to discover the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU or largest packet size) over the path to a remote machine. By discovering the Path MTU and limiting TCP segments to this size, TCP can eliminate fragmentation at routers along the path which connect networks with different MTUs. Fragmentation adversely affects TCP throughput and network congestion. Value Type: String Value Default: 1" VanBuren
