  1. yea i know one girl i used to play Outlaws with, she had ISDN 128k in Philaldelphia, but that was a few years ago. ISDN has been very popular here, 10 years ago, it still is popular in unurban areas where they dont have adsl. I think adsl is the most common broadband in Europe sorry this went off topic VanBuren
  2. i can understand those feelings, i would have said the same if it was reversed VanBuren
  3. me thinks he just tweaked the speedmeter to show 7 MB/s instead of 1 MB/s and he needs to reboot, like you said Greg VanBuren

  10. somehow i think uploading at the same time, helps sending acknowledgepackets but why i dunno VanBuren
  11. Im not sure but i think the test separate each pc by a computer id, even tho you have same ISP IP# , CA3LE can give you a better anwer on this one I dont think you will see any diff in speed if you wire it, modern wireless routers work very well, but like you said distanse has a big role. 18. New download testfiles is added, i now use same types of files as testmy.net (maximal compressed) http://thegamer.serveftp.com/ VanBuren
  19. also dial up has lower latency, a good 56k should have a latency between 100- 200ms on a server in same town. Sattelite is between 600-1000 ms (atleast thats what ive seen) most gameengines is not made for pings above 300 ms VanBuren
  20. yea sp2 dosent help for sure, i noticed sp2 slowed me down alot when i used windows firewall, but with Norton i cant see any diffrense in speed i belive there is some sp2 tweaks out on the net, havent tryed em cos i have no problems.... yet hehe VanBuren
  21. im no expert how that error correction can be set up on interleaved service
  22. i dont think its sp2 open cablenut, click delete cablenut tweaks + save to registry unzip this file to C:ProgramCablenut load it from adjuster, dont forget to click save to registry and reboot this should give you maximal burst VanBuren
  23. the reason i gave you the link to 12 MB test is, thats its been proved several times that 2992 KB test is not really accurate above 5 Mbps, i PM CA3LE about it lets see whats happen. my suggestion is that if you score above 5 Mbps on 2992KB test you get auto forward to the 12 MB test VanBuren
  24. heyas mbrainerd the ping to your first hop (gateway) is still too high, show this to your ISP and say you want a ping below 30 ms, that should not be impossible even if its interleaved service. 3 51 ms 49 ms 49 ms gf-dyn-gateway.gtec.net [66.117.105.1] VanBuren
