  1. It is going to be faster to use usb 2.0 or firewire.. However, if that is not possible.. http://home.Comcast.net/~dhedge3443/network.pdf that is a guide that i wrote a while back.. it will set you up to share files.. unless you have a 10/100/1000 network..
  2. yeah that is possible.. Either way it should have a cd key.. on the case it came on.. or on the manual..
  3. that is what I have found to work... It is free and i havent found anything better for people who dont know what the hell they are doing.. like all of my friends.. I have no had any problems with it "screwing up" a computer... my guess is that maybe your computer wasnt clean.. but either way.. MS firewall != firewall.. it is a lame attempt..
  4. looks like you tap right into a backbone.. yeah.. i dont think your boss would be to happy..
  5. microsoft firewall doesnt count as a firewall.. it only guards against inbound traffic.. you want both inbound and out bound.. download one of the many free firewall programs.. I personally like zonealarm.. if you are sharing file/folders/printers you are going to have to do some more configuring to make all of that working again...
  6. The cd key should be on the computer somewhere.. check on the side, back, or underneath if it is laptop.. It is a green sticker.. with the MS logo on it.. should look something like this..
  7. didnt even know that was there..
  8. no that i know of.. you can do what ever you want with the memory.. I am not sure if you try and send it back to dell because it is not booting with memory you installed.. that might be a problem..
  9. you are going to have to use a dymanic programming language.. like php, jsp, asp... that will allow you to pull real time from the database and display it on the net.. you might want to check out the help section for website/programming
  10. http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/printthread.php?t=213952 sorry.. tivo forum.. looks like they are just for show and tell http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=256675&highlight=usb check that one out.. it look like if you dont have a direct tv on then you might be ok..
  11. I experience the same type of problem on my brother's computer when i was configuring azures.. The way that I fixed it was to open 6881-6999 tcp/udp on the router and then on his firewall the same thing.. then everything started working fine.. The internet browsers were unable to do anything when i had that program open until i did what I listed above.. Wierd.. never seen that problem..
  12. looks good! welcome back!
  13. we are going to need the model number for this product.. my guess is that you can get a usb cord and plug it into the computer.. and it will show up as a removalable device..
  14. Alright i have attached the supported memory configs.. i am going to have to read up on configs..

  19. hmm.. updated firmware right? The speed drop would be due to the download.. but not being able to surf the internet afterwards doesnt make sense.. what bit torrent client are you using?

  21. i have to find the press release.. i know for a fact that it is in PA.. http://newscenter.verizon.com/proactive/newsroom/release.vtml?id=89679 http://newscenter.verizon.com/proactive/newsroom/release.vtml?id=89260 http://newscenter.verizon.com/proactive/newsroom/release.vtml?id=90438 <- good list of where it is in VA http://newscenter.verizon.com/proactive/newsroom/release.vtml?id=90699 http://newscenter.verizon.com/proactive/newsroom/release.vtml?id=91139 http://newscenter.verizon.com/proactive/newsroom/release.vtml?id=92760 <- town getting ready to install Take a look at those.. it is coming.. just takes time to put the fiber in the ground..

Please keep this thead on topic.. As of right now I am not really sure who to blame.. All that is important is to help the people who are down there.. I am sure that there will be an investigation into the promptness of the response by some senate board.. Just makes you wonder.. if we are ready for a terrorist attack.. then why cant we put that plan into action?? or are we really ready?
  23. hmmm.... 168 pin Dimm, 64x64 module that is what is listed on the site.. Here is my final guess to why it is not working... you bought a high density chip.. and your motherboard only supports 1.0gig of ram.. Most of the time for high density ram to work you have to support 1.5 gig or higher.. take a look at the other ram in your system.. if it only has chips on one side then it is low density.. if there are chips on both sided.. it is high..
  24. memory upgrades do not affect the warrenty..
  25. looks sweet... glad to see the x2 on there..
