You could have a surfing hot rod that would have a 600MHz P3.. The only reason to have all of the extras and the $2000 systems is so that you can do games, dvds, photos, etc.. Other than that you dont need anything more than about 600MHz, 7200rpm hard drive, 512-1 gig of ram. I would ditch dway and get something else.. you are not going to be downloading anything really fast with that stuff.. I understand why you dont like games.. You ping is going to be quite a bit up there.. so there is no point in even trying to play.. I know that dell is running a special on there B and E class Dimension boxes.. You might want to check those out.

hmm.. i didnt know that.. I was looking around.. it seems that all of the screens look better when you apply a anti-glare coating.. http://www.screentekinc.com/toshiba-trubrite-lcd-screens.shtml They list all of the popular ones..
-
I have yet to see that screen.. I was really impressed by HP's BrightView screens.. I personally have a Dell screen with native 1650x1080.. It is kinda dark

yeah.. just funny.. it is cool..

very nice! big step in price from the solo! Good find!

I get 3 gig up/down per 24 hours... I have gone over a few times.. Most of the time it is because of download Linux ISOs.. Most ISP have a program in place to monitor bandwidth usage.. I wouldnt be to worried about it.. As long as your are not downloading like 15 3 gig movies a day.. If you are then COX is going to be pissed and you might get a visit from the MPAA... The person you might want to ask is CA3LE.. he is a former COX tech.. he might know what the limits are or were when he worked there.

Here is a good article that I just found.. It has some registry tweaks so make sure that you back up your registry before you try any of these! I have no checked to see if they work.. so you are on your own until later.. http://www.thetechzone.com/?m=show&id=489&page=1

Comcast Question
Swimmer replied to asubaseball727's topic in XFINITY (Comcast Cable Communications)
Yeah you can do what every you want, except for hosting, with your connection.. However, if you want say 2 IPs then you would have to pay extra or if you wanted a static ip.. I dont know if comcast offers these services but other providors do. -
Yeah I think ccr is right.. There should be a prompt to move all of your contact over.. I think you can also export them and then import them once you get everything installed.
-
I think that might have been the wrt54gs that the new firmware release was for the stability of wireless clients... the 54g is pretty well into its life cycle.. so most of the updates are for extras.

turn the second routers dhcp server.. that should take care of any connection issues..

I would vote ditch and save your pennies.. The cost to upgrade this to say an A64, new graphics, new memory and new hard drive.. is worth the money.. There isnt a whole lot you can do with the old socket A any more.. infact some of the processors are more expensive then some of the older 939 or 754 A64 processors.

I thought that there was in WMP but now i am not so sure..

Zap... good point dlewis23! The little fan does make sense.. There have been heat sinks that have both a vertical cooler and horizontal fan.. The back fan would just help get the hot air from that power supply, cpu, and the graphics out of the case so that you are not pushing hot air around trying to cool everything.
-
not bad... now get a case fan in the back of the case to exhaust all the hot air and you should be in great shape.

I saw a simular problem with a WRT54g on an Insight connection.. for some reason it would brick after about 30 days in use.. The pings would be like 2500+ms all the way through.. i direct connected the modem and the ping were normal.. 20-40ms.. I put dd-wrt firmware and the problem seems to have resolved.. I have yet to be called back to take a look at it again. The only problem is that the firmware voids the warrenty..
