Running the builtin WinXP firewall causes so little performance hit that it makes no sense to turn it off. If you are always running your computer behind a decent router/firewall, then you have some level of protection and could turn it off. However, it's a better practice to just not worry about it, leave the firewall turned on, and have protection.

Back to the real world.

I would like to see threaded views that you can expand/collapse. Or, the ability to mark a thread as read then view only unread messages.

Windows Server 2003 includes a firewall from a similar code base that Windows XP uses.

If the only difference in the test is the operating system, then usually the answer will be no.

Apparently changing my on-line presence has caused some confusion so in order to get things squared back up, I changed my name here to Halobox.

This may be true for some people, but I'm inclined to believe the result is accurate for my connection.
