  1. Depending on the plan you have today with RR will depend on how much of a difference you'll feel.
  2. Regarding using SP2 and the firewall... the firewall becomes very usefull for those of us that travel and leave the safe confines of our homelan security zone.
  3. I have never used road runner so I don't know what they are using for their internal ip addressing scheme. Could be picking up the address form a rogue DHCP server. Regardless, it looks pretty hosed.
  4. Looks to me like the router function is not operating and you are getting your information directly from the road runner servers.
  5. My results from both browsers are identical and are consistant with my usual speeds for both upload and download.
  6. Are you using a static ip address on the same subnet as the router or is the router giving your nic an ip address, gateway, etc?
  7. What operating system are you running?
  8. See http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7969592/ Another reason I'll never move there.
  9. I was kidding about the duct tape.
  10. If you can bring the machine up in safe mode, then you know it's likely a recent driver update. What did you change prior to the blue screens?
  11. I have a couple of 4600's with 4gig in each.
  12. I have the http://www.lacie.com/products/product.htm?pid=10461 I use it as a backup target. It's bigger and heavier than the typical external Maxtor drive so it's not something you are going to drag around in your backpack very often. You can build an external array that does the same thing as the Buffalo Tech product. However, they have a really nice case and Buffalo builds great products. I'd like to get my hands on the 1.6ter unit.
  13. You'll notice in my stats that my connection was jacked up May 6-7.
  14. Have you tried the cablenut tweak tool?
  15. No, I am not saying that. If you have the bits either on a hard drive, network share or CD along with your product ID, then you can install.
  16. If it's still readable, you can purchase WinImage and it will read the disk and create a .iso file.
  17. All the DSL and Cable customers hate us FIOS guys.
  18. Which plan do you currently have and which test are you running here?
  19. If you are using the static ip address plan, you can hook up whatever you want.
  20. They actually do have a 5/5 plan but it's on the business side and too expensive.
