  1. Are you sure it's a landline? A quick look-up] Shows that it's a cell number.
  2. Cholla, the reason is that Wordpad can only read Word 6.0 files. It can't read newer versions. You may want to try Openoffice, like you mentioned. It will read newer files. There is also a MSKB article about the error you recieved when trying to open the file. KB276337

  4. I got it from Things People said. There are other lists there too.

Her sister was also sick, fever, and sore throat, her brother had a low grade fever and ached all over. I wasn't the best either, sore throat and fever. There must be something going around, her father even got hot last night."
  6. I guess I'm confused by you saying "requested or needed". You can't just ask (request) them to boost your speed. It happens automatically when downloading large files.

  9. No. How long will PowerBoost work? PowerBoost uses a technology that provides temporary bursts of speed above your normal speed (6 Mbps/384 Kbps or 8 Mbps/768 Kbps). PowerBoost is allocated depending on the size of the file being downloaded or uploaded. PowerBoost will give you a burst of speed when it is needed, but it will not be constant. http://www.comcast.net/help/faq/index.jsp?cat=Services#PowerBoost
  10. I agree that the customer service sucks, ok really sucks, but for the most part I always get advertised speeds. :::.. 11. As long as we're disc-rete, this disc-usting disc-ussion shal never be disc-ontinued! Warning: The disc-overy of this disc-ussion can lead to a disc-satisfing taste for humor.
  12. Can I get a nice disc-ount? Aw, don't get disk-couraged. xD
  13. I picked system maintenance and e-mail. There are a lot of good, some better than others, system maintenance programs out there. I use Fresh Diagnose and PCPitstop. I also use Thunderbird.
  14. What the hell is wrong with Yahoo! search today? Anyone? All I get, randomly is an OOPS! error. WTF?! Sorry, but it's annoying me.
  15. That's not too bad. My old eMachines from 2002 only has 256MB. Heck, XP only requires 128MB. IMO, 256 can still get alot done, minus gaming and video editing.
  16. How much hard drive space do you have on your computer? That is in all, not just free space. I have 440GB total on my comp. One 40GB SATA and the WD4000KD 400GB SATA drive. I remember when I thought 1Gig was huge.
  17. If more than one of those computers are using the connection at the same time, then yes your speed will be a little slower.
  18. Try plugging something else into the suspected connector. You should know then if it's the power.
  19. Check the jumper settings on your HDD's. It's located where it says 'jump' on the pic below. A diagram on the HDD should show what the settings are. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ShowImage.asp?Image=22%2D144%2D122%2D06%2Ejpg%2C22%2D144%2D122%2D07%2Ejpg&CurImage=22%2D144%2D122%2D07%2Ejpg&Description=Western+Digital+Caviar+SE+WD800JB+80GB+7200+RPM+IDE+Ultra+ATA100+Hard+Drive+%2D+OEM Also it's usually "better" to have the master, the one with Windows, plugged into the end of the cable. It would be required on a cable select setup.
  20. I'll go through a quick rundown. It's called an IDE cable. Like Basic said, make sure the red stripe on the IDE cable is on the correct side, next to the power connecter. Although, since it's keyed, you shouldn't have to worry about it. Also make sure every connection is tight. Check for bent pins. It's extremely easy to bend a pin and not even know it. I know, I've done it. Make sure only one drive is master. Or set both to CS. You said you could hear the HDD, so the power works.
  21. I'm currently using GL blue. Gotta love the blue and black.
  22. I doubt he's condoning it. But anyway, our boss happens to be the Big Giant Head. He's kinda hard to find though. Edit: No Vista for me. I've had enough of this monopoly. I'm gonna try Linux. To be safe, I'm going to try it on a MS Virtual machine first.
