  1. Weclome to the forums, alex Comcast hasn't announced another official upgrade yet. Ever since Verizon started offering FIOS, there has been a rumour that Comcast will sometime be offering 14Mb service. Sadly the're just rumors right now.
  2. Nintendo Revolution Why? Because you will be able to download 20 years worth of Nintendo games to play on it!
  3. I haven't built one yet. I do remember my first computer though.
  4. Comcast used to do it that way, through something called "SAS". I'm not sure if there is a "web way" of registering your modem anymore.
  5. Mine was professionally installed (when it first cam out, so I have no idea what's on the CD. I'm guessing it leads you to the Comcast "setup" web site. I have no Comcast software installed on my computer.
  6. Welcome to the forums, CaryCme If you're on the 4Mb/384Kb plan, than that's probably as good as you're going to get, which is very good.

  8. I'm no pro with cable modems, but your levels don't look to bad. My levels are close to yours. Did your ISP "authorize" your modem for their network yet?

  11. No, I know that. I was just stating that, in the UK, there is different version of Windows.
  12. In IE: 1.On the Internet Explorer Tools menu, click Internet Options. The Internet Options box should open to the General tab. 2. On the General tab, in the Temporary Internet Files section, click the Delete Files button. This will delete all the files that are currently stored in your cache. In Firefox: 1. Start FireFox. 2. Open the Tools menu. 3. Select "Options". 4. Click on the "Lock" Icon, which is Privacy Preferences. 5. Scroll all the way to the bottom, where it says "Cache", and click the "Clear" button.
  13. Clear your cache and try the download test again.
  14. Welcome to the forums, rdjune Uncapping a modem is tampering with your ISP's config file. When you connect your modem to the network, it downloads a special config file to the modem. The file contains IP address info, your authorized (paying for) speeds and a few other settings. Uncapping lets you use your modem at up to it's maximum speeds. It does not do any good, because it is illegal, and people who do it do eventually get caught.
  15. Actually, yes. MSIE is "wired' into XP. You can remove the icons for it, but not IE it self. There is a version of Windows (Windows XP N) that MS was forced to "remove" IE from in the UK.
  16. Some older versions of Windows don't MSIE built in. E.g.: Win 9x.
  17. WTF, lol, now it looks bigger than last time I saw the post.
  18. That download box isn't full size, right?
