  1. Not if it was designed right with a Halbach array. It should be designed like that anyway though if it was to be practical...
  2. I get the same problem almost daily... during high traffic times the Web acceleration goes out and I can't do any browsing. (I can still use IM and email though...)
  3. It depends on a lot of factors... partly your distance and route to each server.
  4. Maybe not, but your processor can only process data as fast as it's being given data to process...
  5. host is login.oscar.aol.com, port is 5190
  6. about the same thoughts here...
  7. Not bad.. Although I have this nifty thing called a flash drive that works way better to keep my stuff hidden if I so desire (Sorry, but I'm not a big fan of password protection... passwords can be cracked, most surprisingly easy unless you know how to make good passwords)
  8. This topic has been removed. processed meat product
  9. Yes, but the operating system itself doesn't do the compiling, it's a program on the machine. Ex. gcc on Linux...
  10. Just a note... Unix is an operating system
  11. Actually I was going by the ISP link you gave in a previous post (http://swiftinter.net) At the top of the page in the logo it says "internet solutions for business"
  12. Ok, let me put it this way. kilo means thousand, correct? 1000 has 3 zeros, no? What's 8000*1000? 8,000,000. Another way, from Wikipedia. The kHz multiple is 103. Find a scientific calculator and do 8000*10^3 for me.
  13. Are you even reading my posts? That's about the same thing I said with different numbers
  14. They're essentially the same thing put two different ways. Connection is usually used as a rating, and speed is the transfer rate.
  15. Exactly what I said... it depends on your headphones. The web page is right with the frequecies... 8,000 kHz would be 8,000,000 Hz, or 8 MHz. If they were to be displayed in kHz they would have to be 8 kHz - 22 Khz. And the frequency range on your headphones is 10 Hz-39,800 Hz, not kHz... Huge difference.
  16. Download connection is measured in kbps Download speed is measured in kb/s likewise for upload
  17. This topic has been removed. Illegal.
  18. Yeah... I just saw he's on a business connection (and I knew he wasn't from the US ). So of course he's allowed to host a web server...
  19. Actually it sums it up good. Yes, there are exceptions and special circumstances, but those don't apply to most people. As far as webservers go, almost every consumer ISP here in the US doesn't allow webservers without a special plan. And if you want to insult people, you can go elsewhere. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
  20. Right-click on your desktop, click properties, go to the settings tab, click the advanced button (towards the bottom) and change the DPI setting to Large size (120 DPI) See if that helps out... you might have to restart yout computer for the change to show.
  21. I doubt your headphones can output below 50Hz unless they're rather high quality...
  22. And do you have good batteries in it?
  23. That would be a system-wide setting, not just for the start menu. You could either lower the screen resolution or increase the font DPI. (basically increase the font size) Either way works but all the fonts will increase, not just the start menu. I'd recommend increasing the DPI if you choose to do so.
