    Cleartype

It can be rather irritating with a CRT monitor though... some of my monitors show cleartype text with odd colored pixels around it.
  2. p2p is fine, it's sharing of copyrighted files that TMN doesn't support. There's plenty of legal uses for p2p.
  3. Cpanel works fine for me on Direcway...
  4. think so huh? http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/s_engine.php?type=user_name&q=AgentGOD
  5. maybe because of this...

  7. My page loads fine... the page loads even though it's waiting for google
  8. Nope. And I'm not very impressed with that site... anyone using the internet should know they're reporting all that information to the web server. They imply that it's being shown because of a lack of patches or their antispyware software. And they reported my browser wrong...
  9. The problem is, a browser has to cache pages. Even if you disable the disk cache there's still a memory-resident cache. The data has to be stored somewhere. Although you could have it keep that data only while you're on the web page, but then your browsing would slow down as well...
  10. For those of you with a wierd sense of humor... on my all unread topics page there was this topic titled "a member of this site sent me a PM with gay porn-i don't appreciate it!" and the topic right below it was Roco's "It's HOT" thread lol
  11. Help shouldn't go though PM's unless it's something that shouldn't be shown to the public. When people sign up and send me a PM asking to help with their internet connection it drives me crazy. That's a huge part of what this forum is here for.
  12. Can the drive read a DVD or CD if you put one in it?
  13. It tends to be a combination of things together in my experience... firewall included.
  14. For a laptop.. Intel. I can't recommend a specific processor though...
  15. what can I say... I get a lot of practice... lol
  16. Projects like these are essentially the result of my internet going out.. lol http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-15194
  17. Not too bad... overclocking their computers wouldn't affect the speed though. And I highly doubt they overclock...
  18. This isn't really a "hack" but still cool. Left speaker is before, right is after. (I still have to repaint the left one)
  19. Nope... a crossover connects the transmit data wires from one NIC to the receive data wires of the other NIC and vice versa. They're fairly cheap to buy, or you can hack up an existing cable and rewire it... I'd suggest buying one or making one though. It's rather easy to make a dead cable by hacking it up...
  20. I've had frequent outages and slow internet since I started using it... if it goes out I just go and do something else.
  21. Yeah... you need a crossover cable.
  22. Nope.. just a hub. That's pretty cool..
  23. Welcome to the forum Haus Maybe the servers were down? Are they working now?
