The number one reason logging does not work is the use of a firewall, either software or hardware. You're the first I know of that has a max and tests here as well As for your below-par stats: Spyware, bad internet settings, P2P sharing all could be causing it. What is your advertised download speed btw?

And here I am again. Without internet at home... The good ol' computer decided to join a new (non-existant) network, so now it has no internet. My dad claims it's a virus and he's scared that by visiting my usual (safe) websites he would get the same virus on the new computer. So he banned me from it for an undefined amount of time. He won't give me the info I need to get internet working again, and I can't look it up on the new comp, cuz he banned me from it. So unless I get horribly lucky, my internet time has been reduced to a few hours a week, and only when I'm at school. Bastard.

Is there a link to that report? I'd like to read it, as I want to know why a seemingly superior protocol is not used.

Actually, if you look at what the other score with Cox, you'll see that (almost...) everyone goes over the cap. Yours is just a bit more extreme, because there's problably not many people on your node. So if you can keep your neighbourhood from getting Cox as well, you'll keep that speed for a long time.

Record are fun, but not really proof of a connection going permanently faster.

IIRC all of your emails become public after a month when using gmail. That is bad... So I'll stick to hotmail.

Bad capping is highly unlikely, I'd expect either the modem or the route to Cox to be the problem. Does he have the 4000/768 package?

As long as I don't beat many scores, it just proves that only the good and amazing scores get posted here. The rest is just afraid to be laughed at. Last time I asked, there were about 5 or 6 people scoring 4 Kbps on the download test. I once scored 12 Kbps on the upload test, and it took forever... some people have amazing amounts of patience.

Oooh, so he gets 900 Kbps. That explains it. Has he made any attempt to tweak? Windows standard settings suck. The problem could be anywhere, but if Cox claims it isn't on their side, I'd check the computer connected to the internet first.
