  1. Ads by Google Bullshit. Idem. For quite alot of money and probably a couple of spyware proggies as well
  2. damn researchers. Can't even make jackets for those that really need it.
  3. Is there even a point to splitting a file up in segments and download them at the same time? Back when I still had 300 kbps download I could only get 140 KB/s download when using DAP. Now that I tweaked and get full speed when the server can handle it, such tricks are pointless. Btw, what is the point of download test ads on a website that has the best download and upload tests?!
  4. 50 euros for 2560 (2450 real speed)/384 (0.0). I'd get ripped off, if my dad wasn't paying for it
  5. Download 'Accelerators'? If you refresh often enough, the adds by Google will show you plenty of those damned programs. Beware of Spyware.
  6. That's the kind of upload I should be getting, but nooo, I get 14 - 100 kbps.
  7. That is horrible, when you're at that speed all the time. Even though in upload slowness I got you beat: 14 Kbps. Did anyone ever uploaded slower that that CA3LE and still finished the test?
  8. MTU/MSS/Latency for approximation, the rest is trying random numbers Cablenut's RWIN calculator seems nice, and gives more accurate RWINs
  9. Way fast dude! And 8 Mbps max upload
  10. I tested at 5 am. The rest of the day it's waaay down there. I think the rest of the guys on my node are using Kazaa alot Edit: See? :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is: 86 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 386 KB) Upload Speed is: 10 KB/sec Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line: 2 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 102.4 second(s) Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=4377PXTGB
  11. The powerrr of tweaking More than quadrupled my upload without tweaking: :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is: 233 Kbps about 0.2 Mbps (tested with 97 KB) Upload Speed is: 28 KB/sec Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line: 4 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 36.57 second(s) Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=J93RXF4VH It's crucial to test at the right time Edit: :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is: 258 Kbps about 0.3 Mbps (tested with 386 KB) Upload Speed is: 31 KB/sec Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line: 5 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 33.03 second(s) Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=6C1IVV2NV
  12. They're pretty desparate if they go as far as installing a 'virus' on someone else's computer. But, I think you can sue them, because that just can't be allowed. More money for a faster cable
  13. I try to keep the server I'm downloading off as close as possible, so a USA server usually isn't a good choice for me. Unless it's on a huge backbone like testmy.net Cool, we were visited by aliens.
  14. Neat... I wonder how much duct tape was used to make it airtight
  15. Because the test is flawed. Too small of a file and plain inaccurate. All other speed tests are pointless, because Testmy.net exists
  16. RTB

    Yeah

Great download, you get over the cap Good upload... compared to most and extremely nice when compared to mine (7 KB/s).
  17. You think? It's in holland, so a fair bit away from where you live. I get a steady 280 KB/sec when testing. Which is just under what I normally get. Edit: but the file is only 175k, too small for real results.
  18. Found the 'newest' drivers (2002 ) and tried to install it. which was just impossible. The only .exe that works tells me to turn the comp off, install the NIC, and start up. It was already installed (like... 3 years ago) and restarting does nothing. I think I'll give up on that part. Edit: The tips you gave seemed to have helped, but now I just lag out. Thank you Chello.
  19. Don't think we ever received one... the network card was installed and that was that. ice: it's not just upload that's bugging me, the instability is driving me crazy sometimes.
  20. It was set at hardware default and I set it to 10/half duplex. Then it asked for the win98 cd and it still couldn't find a file called protman.dos to install. Canceled the install and restarting now.
  21. Something definatly worked: :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is: 144 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 97 KB) Upload Speed is: 18 KB/sec Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line: 3 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 56.89 second(s) Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=DIBRJU4WN :::.. Upload Stats ..::: Connection is: 142 Kbps about 0.1 Mbps (tested with 97 KB) Upload Speed is: 17 KB/sec Tested From:: http://www.testmy.net/ Bottom Line: 3 times faster than 56K you can upload 1MB in 60.24 second(s) Validation Link :: https://testmy.net/cgi-bin/get.cgi?Test_ID=O6M2NTPJ5 That's double the speed I was normally getting Testing at chello's testserver showed a less of an improvement, but still visible: 180 kbps upload. But download has worsened. When testing the progress stalls somewhere in the middle and then picks up again. This happened before, but not as often. damn... Edit: Something for everybody to laugh at, download speeds inside the chello network from Chello's own testserver: Per hour Per day 1500 avg, while the advertised speed is 2560. Chello must be happy that so few people do tweak. Everyone beats me in upload speed though Edit2: The 4 o'clock update: Pingen naar testmy.net [67.19.36.6] met 32 byte gegevens: Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=160ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=160ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=166ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=164ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=165ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=166ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=162ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=156ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=175ms TTL=49 Antwoord van 67.19.36.6: bytes=32 time=161ms TTL=49 Pingstatistieken voor 67.19.36.6: Packets: verzonden = 10, ontvangen = 10, kwijtgeraakt = 0 (0% verlies), Retourtijd bij benadering in milliseconden: Minimum = 156ms, Maximum = 175ms, Gemiddeld = 163ms
