  1. what van said is one way to do it, most domain providers such a godaddy allow you to just simply redirect a domain from domain.com:80 to domain.com:8080 on there end so you dont have to do anything.
  2. there ya go davidrose9 thats your real speed and petty good for dway.
  3. davidrose9 those speeds are cached. probally by the directway proxy server they use. try this test http://www.testmy.net/tools/test/d_load.php?&st=st&tt=1&ta=1&top=mirror-dlewis23&out_src=3MB
  4. thanks swimmer i totally forgot about the filter in the router.
  5. your at the full strength of your connection your actually over by a little bit. the only to go faster is to upgrade to the next plan that your ISP offers
  6. my fiance knows its not me now, i just showed her the times when the sites were accessed and i wasent home then so it couldnt be me. and im sure she would be just dieing for you guys to help her out in this way. :haha:
  7. :haha: from what i saw its a couple of sites but she could just as easily go to a different one that i haven't blocked. But i have added the sites into the blocked list built into windows. I will try and check that out.
  8. if your advertised is 256/146kbps then your fine your not going to get any better till you upgrade the connection.
  9. Shane Briley welcome to the forum. take a look at the two topics tommie posted and what is your advertised speed?
  10. p0rnrh3tt welcome to the forum what is your advertised speed?
  11. ok we got a friend staying with us for a few weeks and she is home alone for a good portion of the day, and she uses my computer i have no problem with that but she goes to a few "websites" that i would rather not have her going to on my computer cuz they have already gotten me in trouble because someone thought i was going to them :haha: but does anyone know of a good program that i just block a whole range of sites from being accessed.

  17. so do i, im not giveing those credit card companies a dime. but i still dont have 500 bucks to blow.
  18. if you really tried you could fill that gmail account up in about a week. but lets see how long it takes.
  19. honestly i dont know what more can be done. have you called your ISP and asked for a tech to come out and take a look and see if anything is wrong?
  20. there is only a few tests of your ISP, 5 download and 3 upload tests taken in the last 30 days, and i think they are all by you. http://www.testmy.net/tools/database/host_stats.php?host=icenet.net&notboolean=1&submit=Submit+Query
  21. if your advertiesd speed is 64kbps your not going to get any better, you already faster then your advertised speed.
  22. like he said there isnt much more that can be done, you may just simply not be able to get faster then what you are at now. you could be on the outer edge of DSL's distance. If your anywere over 10,000 feet with ADSL2 your not going to go very fast maby 5mbps max.
  23. thats pertty damn good for wireless ca3le, i loose about 2-2.5 when i do a test on wireless.
  24. js welcome to the forum. what is your advertised speed? and have you done any spyware/anti-virus scans? also if you have a software firewall turn it off when you do a test.
  25. i would perfer accuracy over looks aswell, but damn that thing looks good.
