i take it that you have tried going into safe mode and trying trying it again? add: and do local commands work. like ipconfig, netstat, etc.

it wont make any difference in speed because his ISP, is only 6mbps max USB on that modem is USB 2.0 so its plenty fast enough. but i would switch it to eathernet just because eathernet is better in general.

i think you may need to foward some ports in your router.

knifeman next time it is like that happens, put your computer in safemode with networking and see if your Internet is still super slow.

knifeman welcome to the forum. do you have a wireless router? If so is it secured? at 5am, so you see the DSL activity light on your modem blinking constantly.

ya problaly should have looked a little close. gotmilk have you cleared your tempory internet files, done spyware/adaware scans, virus scans as well? and if you tewaked your connection what did you use.
