I looked at it. what the patch does is change a few things in the registry. The main of which is it turns off the learning stack. So then its kind of like XP.

if you want to be able to switch between them fast with out unplugging anything then your going to want to get a TV that has more then one HDMI input. Some computer monitors can do this too, you can select which input to use in the menu. But since its going to be HDMI on a computer monitor you can forget about sound. You might be better off getting a real TV and a computer monitor. EDIT: if you were to get a LCD tv an try and use it as a computer monitor, its not going to be good because the TV will have a real low resolution of about 1366x768, you could get one at 1920x1080 but your going to pay out the ass for a small one.

Since its a mATX motherboard the case is very small, and the room inside is very low. So you need to get as small of a card as possible.

They are actually really durable. The iPod touch would be the most fragile because of the glass screen, but even that one is very durable, people drop them all the time and they don't break. If you got her a iPod nano, or iPod classic, the whole thing is made out of aluminum and stainless steal. So don't worry about it breaking if she drops it. unless its from a real high place

By that time, dual core will be a thing of the past. When intel releases "nehalem" at the end of they year there is going to be a quad core notebook processor, and that will start the end for dual cores. There is going to be 6 core processors by the end of the year, and 8 core sometime next year. 2009 will probably be the end of dual core processors except in the real low end maybe. And with that, we might see the death of the discreet graphics card for anybody but hardcore gamers sometime in 2009, since with nehalem intel is going to be putting a high performance graphics card into the CPU.

I have a 8 core mac pro at work and I love it. I see a huge difference between it over a single dual core, or quad core. Now granted i'm using a OS that is designed to make programs take full advantage of all 8 cores. for most people there is no reason to get a quad core yet. Your never going to see the difference between a mid-high range dual core and the quad core. A low end dual core and you would see the difference. Vista is fully threaded, to take advantage of multiple cores, so it doesn't have a problem telling what core a program should use. Vista is just inherently slow, so it messes with things, and it doesn't help that majority of programs for vista are not threaded at all. AMD isn't doing the 2 dual cores on one motherboard anymore to make a quad core. It was a total flop. Thats not saying much either, there native quad core if a joke too when compared to intel. With quad cores and dual cores on the intel side there are very few bottle neck issues left. The last of the major ones is the internal memory controller. But when intel switches form "core" to the new "nehalem" at the end of the year that will be fixed. And all dual, quad, and 6 - core computers will be much faster.

SP1 does nothing to help vista. Its just as much of a joke as vista it self is.

Thats happening too me now too. It was working fine just a few minutes ago. Seems to me like the upload test files are missing, that or ca3le has the site pointing to the wrong place for the files.

jdbendijo your test was cached. clear your cache and test again. it is impossible to get a result of 132mbps when the server only has a 100mbps connection.

Could it be that, they maybe want to make some money off vista. If they keep XP around people are going to be buying that over vista, because majority of people can't stand vista. The faster they drop XP, the faster we can all move on. And hopefully MS won't make the same mistakes with windows 7 and actually do something good with it. And maybe not copy all the other OS's around.

Un plug all of your hard drives, and DVD/CD drives and boot, see if it goes faster.
