Hey All: I've got two top speeds. 1) I was SO SO SO lucky several years ago and got to drive a Ferrari Boxer BB-512 at the test track in Italy. During that test I was a passenger at 210 MPH and I got to drive and went 180-190ish.... (I just couldn't keep my foot flat to get to 200+) 2) My highway top speed is 162MPH in the car I have now. It's a Trans Am WS6 with a bunch of modifications to it. The engine is now 540HP largely becuase it has a Vortex supercharger.. I drive the WS6 daily as I just can't get away from it, I love speed!!!! Lantom

I'm sure I'm missing something, but this was a 2003 letter so whats happening in 2005? Most TOS's include some excessive use verbage as a way to insure they can suspend true abusers. It's sort of an at will clause taht allows them to reach out and touch you if your a bad boy. Lantom

I use www.pricewatch.com it's a great computer centric site once you know what you want. You can even put and a specific PN and it will tell you who is selling it and prices. Lantom

Sirs: .S1 killed my other thread so I figured I'd ask my some more question as a new thread. 1) I have three systems behind a router. Can your test "see" each system or does it see me as only one system? That is to say if I tested each system would the results be combined as my location speed or would it show three users on you system? 2) Also, if it combines them are there settings that can be changed so that they are individual? 3) On a prior post I got a lot of comments about my speed being good for wireless. Does anyone think it will go up if I hard wire? I know wireless speeds drop quickly over distance but IF I'm not at the peak of what the network can do does the pure fact that it has some administration/workload going over the wireless really matter to speed? LD

.S1 First, it's unfortunate that you feel the need to be an ass...... 1) I'm not an "expert" like you on systems, but I am smart enough to read when the numbers change. The information I gave you about the speed drop is real. Perhaps your just not sharp enough to know what makes it happen or to devise a way to make them all run at the same speed.. Try saying I don't know rather than just trying to rip members!!! 2) Look at VanBurens post right before yours. It's clear and tells my WHY he asked me to test 12Mg and gives me the logic behind it. Perhaps you can have him help you with your writing. 3) Yes my parents do love me thanks for noticing. 4) I don't "fish" for complements in computer forums as all to often some 19 year old decides to go heals becuase he's well 19!!!!! Hey: I have Doom III, I agree with you, it's better but not world moving.... I have a higher end graphics card and it really doesn't add much.. I can run everything up with good frames rates... So what, the game just isn't that much better.... it's all to damn dark anyway!!!! Halo II I have on my xbox on the big screen. Very clean and nice graphics and flow, although the game was a little short and anti-climatic, I didn't even know I was at the end until the credits rolled. I'm redoing in on legondary settings now. LD

Hey: To add to what I said, the CPU usage on my systems during the 12mg download was between 20-40% during the whole process. I'm sure with that kind of CPU utilization speed matters!!!!! LD

I know, you think I'm crazy..... I have this P-4 on vapor, a P-4 1.8 & a P4 1.1M. They are all on the same network and behind the same router. They fall off in download speeds corralated to processor speed.... Test it for yourself, if you change the clock 20% on your system you should see a lower average. LD

Honestly, one of the reasons my downloads are fast is my system. I'm running a P4 3.0C but it's clocked at 4 on Vapor Cooling. Also big memory cache on HDD's insures no delay as everything dumps to 256M Cache controller then to HDDs I suspect if I did wire direct and cleaned things up I could get 6-8mps consistently I had one 7 mps already before I became a member. take care and let me know what ya think. Two things: 1) Make sure that you have a DOCSIS 2 cable modem... 2) I hate to say it but you have to toss that Router. I had one with the same issues your talking about. My xbox SUCKED.... I'm now running a D-link DCM-202 Cable modem & a DI624 wireless router... I now get 6Mps down and .6Mps up. I was getting LESS than have of that with my old equip!!!! PS. DON"T run your Xbox wireless even on a G, I tried and it just doesn't work well. GL Lance

Well, I'm on COX premium. I agree these are great wireless speeds. I'm using D-link products and it's 108Mps, I have high gain antennas on all the remote stuff. Also, just a note for people that might not know. I've had three of my own cable modems and although people can argue about who's is best the real issue is make SURE your modems are DOCSIS 2.0, My speeds increased by 40%!!!! just changing modems from a DOCSIS 1.1 to a 2.0 system!!
