That's because you've got a 6000 and he's got a 4000. Anyone over 2 mb/s has a 4000. 6000 will never be able to get up there, unless it's burst speed on a small test.

A bigger dish and some extra cash will get you better uploads probably. I remember when I tried to upload a 20 meg file, that didn't go too well...

No, i get nearly the same speeds on the $60 package. The Pro package costs more, but doesn't give you more speed. It just gives you a static IP, and it gives you a bigger download cap (not speed) until you reach the FAP. But of course, you will say that doesn't matter and you'll say that you're faster. You can't compare two speeds on two different sattelites and two different signals. Obviously, since you're using that one, you don't like the results you're getting with the others.

That depends. Try putting the computers on stand by or turning them off, then test your speed. If it's no faster, then I'm getting no where. BTW, with a router, you'll still be slower than it would normally be... but only by about 10 kb/s.

Remember, since you're running on a shared connection, and you're not directly plugged in to the modem, your speeds will probably be a little bit slower.
