That's actually a decent speed. Better than normal for Dway. I would recommend some kind of bandwidth limiter -- netlimiter works the best for me -- when you're downloading large files.

Mine won't load anything for 2 minutes about every hour... That's the only problem I've been having.

I'll be getting the hard drive by Tuesday... So all is good now, except for the fact that I have to get the drivers manually (they didn't send me a driver disk). And I'm going to look into an external usb fan..

In the "system control center" when I click on system info, if I go down to the bottom of the page there's a software configuration. It says that there's a firewall enabled (from NOC). When did this happen? Screenshot below:

Update: It's a hard drive problem...My dad's laptop did the same thing. There's a weird noise coming from where the hard drive is. He's going to call Dell tomorrow (or tonight), he thinks it's still under warranty, so he's just going to be able to get a new one from them.

Well, I had a celeron in my Dell Inspiron 1150 laptop. Whatever you do, don't get it. It runs hot and it's extremely noisy. It's probably what fried my HD...

I got mine up from 40 kb/s to 70 kb/s using those. Not as fast as IE, but I can use FF on a regular basis now.
