  1. I use WinAmp, but I'll probably be changing to Itunes when I get my Ipod.
  2. I'm Bird Fan because I'm a Larry Bird fan.
  3. I think I need somewhat of a repoint. I'm getting a 37 signal right now (I was getting 55 with the 6000) with clear skys. I know that anything over 30 is fine, but when it rains, there's no way that I'll still have a signal.

  5. So we got it working after an hour on the phone with "advanced" american tech support... Here's the speeds. Upload is incredibly slow. Slower than the 6000.
  6. Our's came in the mail Thursday; my dad and I tried setting it up last night, but the coaxile cables in the back wouldn't fit. My dad's going to the store today to pick up some new heads for them.
  7. This isn't the right forum, probably, but I have an internet friend that is having trouble with his video card. Apparently, when he installed updates for his video card, he started seeing weird colors. He's seeing green and purple where there should be black. He said that he sees greenish and purple pixels where the black should be. I don't know whether this is a video card problem or not, but it did it after he installed updates. I told him to try a system restore, but he said that it said that it was incomplete. He has a NVIDIA geForce FX 5200, if that helps. Also, a guy on Counterstrike said that it was called "shimmer". Any help is appreciated and btw, he said that he couldn't register. I don't know what the problem is.
  8. What modem are you running on? 7000?
  9. That's pretty good. Wildblue looks great (for now), but I doubt that it will last forever. I'm sure that it will start getting slow soon when more people sign up. I heard that they had to close new installations on some beams (37?). Sorry if I sound negative. Sattelite internet will always suck.
  10. That's not bad, I get around .8 meg during that time of day. Try a test at like 2 A.M. and see what you get (or you can try early in the morning). So sloooooooow tonight: :::.. 12. I know a site where you can download any OS you want... for free. I don't know how well they work or if they're pirated. PM me if you want a link.
  13. There are many posters at dslreports.com that are getting some good speeds and I've only seen a couple people with bad ones. http://www.dslreports.com/forum/sat If you're on the 4000, I would stay (unless you need the upload), but if you're on the 6000 definately upgrade.
  14. Also on Mydirecway.com I'll probably be upgrading as soon as my dad gets back from Italy.
  15. Well, I'm not an expert on speed tweaking, I was just making sure you were getting an accurate test result. If you haven't already, take a look at some of these topics: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=2097.0 http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?topic=4257.0
  16. I think a lot of Wildblue users are having the same problem. Take a look: http://www.dslreports.com/forum/wildblue
  17. that's probably because you used a bigger file, try this one http://server1.testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=2992&st=st&ta=&top=
  18. If only these were just a little bit cheaper... http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=1617456&Sku=L23-7076&SRCCODE=PRICEGRABBER&CMP=OTC-PRICEGRABBER But I can always take some money out of my savings... hmmmmmm...
  19. I like the Phillips that organ_shifter recommended, but are they already "spliced?'" How do I find out? I did find some wire, so I just thought that I could wire them... https://www.computercablestore.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=389
  20. I would too, but I'm on somewhat of a small budget. Trying to get under $100.
