I get about the same speed as late night / early morning speeds from about 6 AM - 4 PM. I'll continue to try to do speed tests evey hour tomorrow, although I may be busy tomorrow.

He complains a lot about the lag, but he get's through it. He plays a game called Runescape, very hard to explain. I think it's considered an RPG game.

So I decided to do peak hour tests to see how consistent my speeds are. I re-pointed my dish myself today, although I still only have a 50 signal (better than 31!), so I can now get on during peak hours. Many of these speeds would be faster, but my brother is playing an online RPG game, so he's the one that kept me from doing the upload tests; our connection would stop all transfer as soon as I started the test. I'm still impressed with these speeds. If only Direcway would be able to give everyone this kind of service! 5:00 :::.. Remember that I might be on a different sattellite, my install might be different than yours, and sometimes different tweaks work for different computers. I use Sat Speed (a utility that you have to have a membership to get from copperhead.cc ) , but it registers the same tweaks as Cablenut would. I've also included an upload patch from the site, I have yet to find out if it helps at all.

If it's always been slow, then it shouldn't be a grounding problem. Hmmmm.... It's gotta be Direcway's problem. One way to make sure it's not a grounding problem is by testing to see if there is static build-up in your cables. To get rid of the static, follow this: 1. Unplug your modem from the wall jack. 2. Unscrew the sat. in and out cables (make sure they're marked so you know which is which). 3. Put your thumb over both coaxiles for 30 seconds. 4. Screw back in. 5. Power up modem. 6. Go to testmy and take a speed test. Support may have told you to do that already; they told me to do that once, but that was level 2 support (although it isn't that advanced).

Yeah, I was wondering why Direcway was on there. They've lost a number of users in the past couple months too. They need to make the top 24 best IP's. AOL and Direcway wouldn't make the top 100.

There are some kids that go to my school that think AOL is the only way to use AIM.

It may sound like I'm shitting you, but I've always had a lot of difference. Since I have a high speed burst, the 579 kb one isn't very accurate, as it says my connection is 2mb down. The 1496 is actually pretty accurate (I used to use it), and is one that is fine for posters to test on. I just prefer the 2992 kb one as I've gotten used to using it in the past couple months.

Always, always, always, test with the biggest download test. It soooo much more accurate.
