Is it just the Sat Mex 5 and Horizons satellite's having problems right now?
-
No! You're on the Sat Mex 5; spare the headaches.
-
You're on the Sat Mex 5, that's your problem.

Cablenut can be found at www.cablenut.com. TCP Optimizer can be found at www.speedguide.net on the "downloads/patches" page. Use this file for the Cablenut tweaks: http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=10818.0;attach=9064 Just double click on the file, and they should enter automatically. Then go to "save to registry", exit, and reboot.

I've heard of a number of installers only offering to install it on the roof or on a pole. It must depend on what the installer wants to do. Did you used to have the 4000?
-
I think I gave you my settings didn't I?
-
That looks like the kind of speed I get when I test in Firefox. What browser did you test with?
-
You put your direcway or dirctv dish on the side of the house? I've never seen a Direcway dish on the side of the roof. I'm pretty sure direcway only allow you put it on your roof or on a pole, at least that's the new rule.

Well, I have my own good working DW 7000 file... I was just wondering why some of the things were left blank. I guess they don't affect speed. Thanks.

It's going to take time (as everything does, espcecially when it's new). Do I disagree with the payment options? Yes. Is it better than dialup? Yes. Is it more expensive than dialup? Yes. Is it the only option? No, but the Wildblue's speeds won't last forever and there are actually a few customers with problems. Nothing is perfect.

Who told you they can't fix the mess? I went from 30k failed transmissions to 9 in a half a week. I went from not being able to upload at all to getting 204kbps in a half a week. They seemed to be able to fix that, didn't they?

I never said it was the PC to blame 100%. Have you used Dway on a computer with windows 98 installed? It's slower than shit. That's the computer's fault. Did I ever say that if you get good speeds during the day and slow during the evening was your computer's fault? I said that it depends on how good your computer is, I should have been more exact and said that it works on a newer OS. If a person gets good speeds at anytime of the day, then it's definately because of the satellite you're on. Remember, not every satellite is working great. There aren't many users who have good speeds any time of the day. There are very little to no users with the 7000 happy on the sat mex 5 right now.

That and the spyware, but not "problem free". Direcway actually works fastest with an out of the box computer. Every company has problems. My friends dsl company sent them a bad modem first, and now the new one doesn't even work right.
-
That's not as bad of speeds as some are getting. Remember that satellite signal doesn't hurt speed. BTW, what's your signal now? Has it dropped?
-
You can't mount Direcway dishes on the side of houses, they're too heavy.
-
I think it's starting to come down to how well it's installed and what satellite you're on, and of course how good your computer is.
-
Well, I don't really know how to make my own files now. Maybe you can teach me?

What happened to the Direcway ones? It doesn't even look like you've completed it... You should also make one for the 7000 for the consumer and pro accounts. There are a lot of users switching to the new modem. You should also think about making one for Wildblue. For Direcway: Consumer gets "up to" 700/128 Pro gets "up to" 1/200

Talk to vanburen about that i posted a screenshot of it
-
I uploaded the one you should use below. If you just click on it, it should open Cablenut and then all you have to do is go to "save to registry" then reboot and then post a speed test here.

There's no such choice for Direcway files... We either have a choice of 1460 MTU or 1500 and then our package type.
