offering dway 3000, 4000, 6000 and 7000 help
Bird Fan replied to riteshnig2003's topic in HughesNet (DIRECWAY)
Exactly. You can't do much to help, except maybe tell them what satellite they're on. -
40kbs on a 7000 Pro system on 4000 satellite HELP!
Bird Fan replied to Crispy Niggets's topic in DW7000 Information
He's probably toying with you. I'm sure the 7000 does not like the 4000 dishes, but there's no nead for you to get a .98 one. I can see he said he "recommended" the .98 dish, but unless you're a small business owner and use the system a lot for uploads, vpn, etc. you don't need the .98. Ask to get the .74. -
40kbs on a 7000 Pro system on 4000 satellite HELP!
Bird Fan replied to Crispy Niggets's topic in DW7000 Information
You're getting those speeds because it's peak hours... Test tomorrow morning at 5-8. -
You need a 2 watt transmitter to transmit 2 watts... I'm guessing you only have a 1 watt transmitter?

Post your fastest speed with Wildblue
Bird Fan replied to andythedrummer's topic in Wildblue / Exceed / ViaSat
Nice speed burst... -
do it again, that's the only fix for me, unless I wait it out. I don't get many red x's on the 7000, though. what's your successful transmissions / failed transmissions? to find out, type '192.168.0.1' into your browser without the quotes. then navigate to 'transmission info' and copy and paste what's in the table. if your successful transmissions / failed transmissions ratio is more than 2%, then that's a bad sign, but then again, it could be your satellite.

Restarts don't hurt the system at all. I restart mine daily.
-
thats still not too bad for a peak hour test
-
your upload is almost faster than your download definately your bird, is there any way you can get on the amc3?
-
Try a test on Mydirecway, some posters on Dslreports have had problems with testmy's test tonight.

power cycle your dw modem

I use a router, but I dont use an WISP. I think the question was asking if we are using a router.
-
I've been told that even if I get a 61 cros pol, I still need to repoint.
-
The last time I did an auto cros pol test, I got a 61. I've heard that if you don't pass, then you have to call Dway and tell them to push you through. I'm worried that I won't pass, so I'm not going to take the test again.

How much ram does ur firefox take up?
Bird Fan replied to Dilatedpeoples28's topic in General Discussion
With 2 tabs it takes up 28k, but like what php said, if I browse for a while, it goes higher. -
Keep testing. And do it from different parts of your house where you would have a different signal. Are you sure that it's any slower? It could just be the peak hour slowdowns. BTW, I get a very high speed burst on my wired computer and almost no speed burst on my wireless. The different speeds that you could be seeing might be due to a speed burst. Keep running that test, it's more accurate on my wired computer that has the huge speed bursts.

Wildblue changes FAP.. again
Bird Fan replied to andythedrummer's topic in Wildblue / Exceed / ViaSat
An FAP is a "Fair Access Policy". Basically it's a limit of how much you can download before your provider throttles your internet speed. For Direcway it's 169mb per 4 hours (for consumer package users) and for Wilblue it's 22gb / 5gb per month. You won't see the FAP unless you have satellite internet. -
Wildblue changes FAP.. again
Bird Fan replied to andythedrummer's topic in Wildblue / Exceed / ViaSat
Starband used to not have an FAP, now they do, and I think it's worse than Direcway's. They also have a lot worse speeds than Direcway, but still, satellite is all the same. -
Post a speed test with your wired computer and one with your wireless one. Use the same browser, and this test: http://server1.testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=2992&st=st&ta=&top=
-
I dont really have a secret. Does it have the same speed when you have a better wireless signal? Do you have any security enabled?
-
I get the same speed on my wired computer as I get on my wireless laptop.
