Why would I go through registration again?
-
Awesome would be in the 80-90's (you won't see this unless you have at least a .92 meter dish probably), good would be from about 60's-70's, and bad would be from about 40's-50's, and ugly would be anywhere in the 30's. Right now I'm getting a 45 (I'm thinking there's a tree in the way). BTW, you can't get a signal under 30.

Tweaking probably won't make it faster. Remember, it's peak hours...

Yeah, my software status is still at 'Received first heartbeat message.'

Okaaaaay, so today I do some things... Now see, I have "extenders" for my coax that go into my modem, they weren't spliced because my dad never did it. When I first got my 7000, the coax's wouldn't fit (the copper center thing [yes, im a noob] wasn't long enough) so I had to get extenders. Rather than waiting a few days to find something I could splice, me and my dad went ahead and got some like wall jacks and put a short coax that went into my modem. So today I think, "why don't I take off the "extenders" and try it with the 6000?" Well, It worked! I got a 62 signal. The sat out coax is longer than the sat in (don't know why) so I could easily hook up my out coax to the 7000, it's the sat in that had the problem. So I use the different "extender" that I didn't use before and it works! You may be confused, if you are, don't worry about it. Just know that, I'm back! :::.. My favorite was the FedEx caveman one, but my favorite part of it wasn't the ending. "Did you use FedEx?" "FedEx hasn't even been invented yet!" "That's not my problem..."

Maybe it's because it's peak hours...

When my 7000 was working, I downloaded 100 mb files in about 10 minutes at 7 AM.

Well, I haven't emailed them yet. I was planning on emailing them tonight after I go over some things today. I left my 6000 plugged in while at school and hasn't gotten a signal yet. I'm thinking yesterday was a fluke or something. There's not a cloud in the sky and the signal is jumping from 0-29. It very well could be that the dish is pointed wrong, or that there's something wrong with the coax cable. I've checked the feedhorn window and there's no water in it, so that's not the problem. My "service" is set for the 15th between like 9AM and 12. Unfortunately my mom will be the only one home, so I can't monitor anything. I'll probably end up trying to tweak the dish sometime when the snow melts off the roof (snow is off the dish). I'll keep you guys updated.

Nope, I'm still on dialup. I think I'm just going to email the guys about them sending me a replacement.

It will be "up to" 1.5 down / 250 up here in a few months. They've all ready changed thier FAP to regulate the heavy downloaders.

Looks like the Horizons 1 bird is having problems today...

There was bad weather over the NOC last night, I think. Has your rate code changed back yet?
-
It didn't work without the proxy? That's odd Try taking some tests around 7-9, see if it's any slower...
-
Okay, thanks for your help
-
I'll call a little later. Does anyone know if it would cost me anything to get another modem if I explain the situation to them?
-
I can't get on the 6000 because TCP Acceleration is "Not Operational" or something. It says that it's commisioned. Any help?
-
Ok, so I tried some different things today. I plugged in my old 6000, and at first it was jumping around from 0-29, then after about 20 mins. it went up to a 54-56 signal (I had snow on the dish so that was probably the problem). I now know that the problem probably isn't with the dish itself, but the 7000 modem. I'll be emailing Dway today letting them know.

It's probably high because you used the 1013kb test.

Thanks for your help, but I don't think changing to a different frequency would help me much. I tried to change by running through setup again. It doesn't matter if they don't change it, I can still see what I get on each frequency and satellite (which was 10 for every one, even a different sat.).
-
There was some bad weather over the NOC earlier... Maybe they put on their "signal booster" and it gave you guys better speeds.
-
Did Direcway finally figure something out? Why isn't it slow tonight?

I'm just happy to have internet...
