  1. Is this the first time it's been slow since you've gotten the 7000?
  2. What's your transmit fail status? To find out, type 192.168.0.1 in your browser and navigate to 'transmission info'.
  3. I wouldn't blame your tweaks. The only real way to know you're getting slower would be by testing every morning at around 6 AM...
  4. Do you have a certain uploading need? Because I wouldn't consider either unless you upload a lot. 7000 > 6000 (except for the night time slowdowns)
  5. I don't think anyone is seeing 500ms pings... Pinging testmy.net [67.18.179.85] with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 67.18.179.85: bytes=32 time=908ms TTL=51 Reply from 67.18.179.85: bytes=32 time=803ms TTL=51 Reply from 67.18.179.85: bytes=32 time=1022ms TTL=51 Reply from 67.18.179.85: bytes=32 time=919ms TTL=51 Ping statistics for 67.18.179.85: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 803ms, Maximum = 1022ms, Average = 913ms
  6. The more you download, the more you'll use up the FAP. If you download 10mb at 150kb/s it's no different than downloading 10mb at 100kb/s.
  7. www.copperhead.cc I think there's a program in their "Programs" list, but you have to pay like $20 for a membership before you can download it.
  8. Do you have the modem currently? Because if you go through setup, you can find out where you should point it...
  9. Can you elaborate a bit? What exactly are you looking to do with the pointing software?
  10. Try it again. If you're having an installer come out, there shouldn't be a problem then. Just make sure they register it.
  11. Heh, sounds like something Direcway Tech Support would say. Are you sure you called the right number?
  12. I envy all you guys with Wildblue... I'm stuck with Direcway for the rest of my life Actually, only like 4 more years. Still pretty bad, maybe something new will come around, like wireless, or maybe Wildblue will buy out Direcway and I'll actually have reliable satellite internet!
  13. I would wait before getting the 4000. There have been many complaints about not being able to use used Direcway modems without paying $200 for an installer to check "everything". Apparently, Direcway refuses to re-comission any modem. [DW4000] Direcway has gone crazy ! Read the 4th post by dbirdman. It says:
  14. Depends on what I'm doing. If it's a constant download then it will go down to like 11mbps, but if it's of and on browsing (like right now), then it's around 24mbps. BTW, I'm on wireless.
  15. Yes, that's what I think every time I see a test result from a 4000 user.
  16. When it's over 133kb/s Unless they have a small businness account, they're not going to be getting that on the 7000.
  17. I thought you were on the 6000 not 4000, my mistake. Just post in the 4000 forum.
  18. He's on the 4000
  19. That's a speed burst
  20. Run the test a couple times.

  22. Download it and try testing with it... I've been getting a lot more accurate test results with it lately.
  23. Tweaks with the 6000 do virtually nothing. The 6000 is more consistent with its speeds than the 4000 (so I've heard), but it's just not as fast.
  24. Don't use spell check then Clean your cache and run the test a few times in Firefox.
