  1. I never do tests after waiting about 10 mins, it's normally a couple hours. And sometimes I clear my cache at night and in the morning I still get the 1200+ on the first test and around 1070 on the second.

  4. That's because your computer defaults to 8. Don't worry about it, it's the right setting.
  5. I think I've got it installed, but it doesn't do anything. I think it's supposed to tweak the max connections setting in IE to make pages load faster, who knows if it works.
  6. Who were you pointing the finger at?
  7. Does it work on any signal, or just service from certain providers? They're actually installing a tower nearby; I currently get 1-2 bars, but it depends on where I am in my house.
  8. I don't really remember you specifically asking you to always test here... I think I told you a few times download a large file and see what it finishes at. And I didn't need a validation of your speed, I knew what your speed was. I just wanted you to know that you were downloading at 190kb/s with Dway. I guess arguing is bad now
  9. Nothing really different for me. It's just a little slow at night, but not as bad it used to be.

  11. That's a speed burst. Run the test consecutively a couple times.
  12. I know you got those speeds, but they're bursts. Bursts do happen... they just don't last. And Direcway could never pull a 2000kbps download consistently with your package. NEVER. The satellites are too congested; Wildblue doesn't even download that fast. I'm guessing on larger downloads on programs, games, etc. you see around 120-130 kb/s consistently, which is very good for Direcway.
  13. I thought the FAP was 169 mb at 50kb/s refill rate for regular home package users. And for pro it was 350 mb at 56kb/s refill rate? EDIT: NVM, you were giving speeds. I can never download anything when I'm FAP'd.
  14. You have to pay for a membership first, though.
  15. Hopefully I'll be off satellite by then... I can't wait. Those still on satellite with be on the DWay 50k modem. Getting speeds of 2 mbps down and 400 up. With 800 ms lags, blackouts, and slow peak hour speeds.
  16. Here's what I got on one of your speed tests Blunted... It started at about 140kb/s and just went up, I've never had that happen before. Normally it starts really high and drops down to like 133kb/s.
  17. VPN on Direcway is always going to be slow, sometimes slower than dial-up.
  18. It doesn't really matter. Some people have actually seen better speeds with it on.
  19. This actually helps a lot of people with the broken page problems, so it might help you.
  20. Yeah, you can't change them once they've been made. Just right click, then go to new, and then you should have three options: string, integer, or boolean. Click boolean, then copy the name network.http.pipelining, then select value. To make all this easier, you could just get the Fasterfox extension, it does all these things for you.
  21. I think I found it somehow on Dslreports, or maybe I found it on Google.
  22. To make new ones, right click and choose the type (which is integer for this) nglayout.intialpaint.delay speeds it up a lot. you also need to create the network.http.pipelining.firstrequest, it's a boolean.
