You should definately be concerned! I think you can take the feedhorn off and clean the transmitter somehow. The feedhorn is not need, it's purely decorative. When I took mine off not too long ago, I found a wasps nest in it. If you take yours off, make sure your dish isn't transmitting! Also, if you have signal, your speeds shouldn't be affected too much. How many failed transmissions do you have? If you have a lot, that could slow you down. As fikester said, Sat Mex 5 has been having a lot of problems with speed during not only peak hours but any time of the day.

There were some small business users that had rate code problems this morning on dslreports. I think Direcway is tinkering around with some things, maybe getting ready for the new software update?

Looks like you just restarted your modem.

I used to get 1-5 transmit errors in about 3 days on the 6000. Lets check my transmit errors on the 7000. Number of Successful Transmissions 51785 Number of Failed Transmissions 6090 12% I still think I have a pointing problem.

What browser did you take that test with? That's about the same download speed that I'll get if I test in Firefox. Take the test in IE -

Sorry, but you've obviously got a speed burst... Try a larger test, like this one: http://www.testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=2992&st=st&ta=&top= As for your upload, that looks very nice for the 6000 Also, welcome to the forum! -
I like Firefox and K-Meleon, but my first choice is Firefox.
-
It's probably due to the peak hours, my web acceleration status will go down a few times between 5-10, but it comes back. There's nothing wrong with restarting your modem... Does it go out at about 3 in the morning? And what package and sat. are you on? To find what sat your on, type http://192.168.0.1 in your browser, and navigate to system info, paste whats there and post it here.
-
Very nice That's one of the best uploads I've seen,
-
Wow, the 1024 4/5 rate code? There's got to be a problem there... Anyway, as for the upgrade, what sattelite/transponder are you on? If you're on the SatMex 5 I wouldn't upgrade just yet, they're having a number of problems with that sat. To find your sat, type http://192.168.0.1 in your browser and navigate to system info and paste whats on there, on here.
-
I just started using K-Meleon and I really like it. It uses very little computer resources, and it's super fast.
-
You're on the same sattelite and transponder that I was on with the 6000... There's got to be something wrong with your setup. Run this test, and post your results, as it gives your system time to "warm up". http://www.testmy.net/d_load.php?ni=1&tt=1&s=2992&st=st&ta=&top= Make sure you have your firewall disabled during the test. Also, what browser are you using? IE gets faster speed results than Firefox.
