  1. IE's slower than Firefox for you? Wow. If you haven't already, install these Firefox speed tweaks: http://forums.suselinuxsupport.de/lofiversion/index.php/t10502.html Now, make sure your cablenut settings are the right ones. Make sure you chose the right MTU, and type of account, because that can really slow you down. Most likely your MTU is 1500, and I'm guessing that your running on the basic (consumer) account. http://www.testmy.net/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1013.0;attach=2784 After you install the program and choose the correct settings (version 7 are above), press save to registry, and then restart your computer.
  2. I'm sure kol could do some damage to it.
  3. Let the 8th graders from my old junior high on it... They'd play some internet games on it first, then they would go to ebaumsworld and click on all the ads.
  4. What browser are you using? Firefox is always pretty slow for me.
  5. I ran that a few times when my computer was working. It froze every time when it was on step 5 "cleaning up process" at 71 %.
  6. I can't boot into safe mode, or else that would have been the first thing that I would have tried..
  7. During the IDE Disk scan in the test, it found an error. I'm not going to talk to Dell Technical Support...
  8. What's interesting is that I'm running a test for "cannot boot the OS" maybe it will come up with some kind of error and it will fix it... I hope so, but I'm not going to get my hopes up. I needed to reformat anyway.
  9. Another problem after another... my cd drive wont open unless I'm in windows and I open it manually from "my computer". I'm probably going to have my dad take it to a shop and let them deal with it. At least my parents have another computer...
  10. I'm running the Dell Diagnostic Utility Partition. I received and error while running a test before that. DST short Test: Error code: 1000- 0146
  11. Well, I'm running some kind of test that is supposed to take up to an hour.
  12. I tried both. When I press F2 it goes to a Dell Inspiron 1150 Series Setup page. It shows what BIOS version I have, but does not have anything else about BIOS on the "setup". After pressing F12 it then goes to a manual boot page with the following choices: Internal HDD CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive Cardbus NIC Onboard NIC Diagnostics
  13. When I press F5 or F6, it does nothing. I tried all the different types of safe modes, and I got this blue screen error :
  14. I don't think so. I did leave a flash drive in one of my usb ports when I shut down the pc, but I've done that before and I've never had this happen.
  15. Okay, here's my problem: I turned my computer off when I went to school today, and when I got home it wont boot windows. It gets the Windows XP loading screen, but wont go anywhere from there. I can't get into safe mode either. And I have tried "last known good configuration" or whatever it is. Is there anything else I can do without having to send it into a pro? Have I messed with my BIOS settings?

  17. I was on the way to school and I heard it on the radio. I remember asking my mom what the world trade towers were.
  18. I get slower results also. I've tried tweaking Firefox, but it only went up from 40 kb/s to 70.
