This is awesome 2, 000, 000 ! Yeah c'mon Ca3ble wheres your name? ok , funny , but installing how I did, I cannot locate the log file usually it will install in the folder you installed from , but no icons this time. I guess I haven't much experience w/ the service install, and keeping track of it. I found EM3, as a monitor, ( for networked box's running F@H ) but it keeps locking up on me , even after a second install
-
As long as I have you here what is the command to access the services to monitor them? I see they are active as services. I seem to remember there is a monitoring program!?

Road Runner in Houston..how we do it down south
mudmanc4 replied to urbn420's topic in Show off your speed
I wish I did, I had there ultimate pack, but rarely achieved a score higher that the basic, so financially, I did the right thing , Took the basic it was around 40 bucks a month cheaper , for the same DL/ UL . -
First off, I was not aware that port forwarding would do anything as far as speed , other than specify which computer the packets are to be sent to wich box, in case on a VPN , of ftp, or gaming ect. You have DSL, so you need to make sure the modem is in bridge mode and DHCP is on unless you have another router that is set up to lease ip's,(in this case turn off DHCP server ), then release and renew all dhcp. With my knowledge, the only way that other machines on the network will not connect to internet unless this one is on, would be if you had it set up as host and all others to connect through it.

Thanks Swimmer for the reply . Can you debunk this article ? I have a clean install, and would not care to have anything incorrect floating around the registry quote from : short-media.com This guide does not apply to systems using Windows 95, 98, 98SE, ME, XP Home, XP Media Center Edition, or XP Tablet PC Edition because these operating systems do not support multithreaded operation. Windows 95, 98, 98SE, and ME don't even have system services in the NT sense so this guide doubly doesn't apply. Windows 2003 Server and XP-64 IA64 users are on your own; you may be able to run Folding@Home in IA32 emulation mode, but it will be slow and likely error-prone. http://www.short-media.com/articles/foldinghome_on_multithreaded_windows_pcs

Hate to push the thread but , is there anyone out there that has two cores of F@H running on Media Center w/ a two core machine? I'm just anxious to install, I know how to do this on a machine running anything but media center.

I really hate to admit it, but I too see the decline. We are "Rome" in a sense. And we have fallen far enough to become the epitome of world greed, apathy, and gluttony. This country is way to young to be experiencing the issues that we have created. It's almost like "it" has become a being with it's own life. Uncontrollable at any level. The world is investing in a marketplace, not the people. We are lost in our own magnificent lifestyle. Always needing more and better, all the while our lives in general becoming more and more a disposable . Look at the way we treat our computers, Most older computers are discarded and collected to be ravaged of there usefull parts, and shipped off to developing countries. The gold platings and other valuable metals are harvested by means of acid bathing by young and unknowing people that they are contaminating there waters and body's. Just one example of our thirst for more, when we do not see the value in used or outdated components. Just throw it away, theres more............right? But for how long. BTW Roco, i'll buy into the TMN buck's The oil kick will never stop, at least until we are completely removed from the rest of the world in our own greed and paranoia. Then the real shift in power will prevail here in the US. If we think the poor are poor now, ............there will be the elite ultra wealthy, and the desolate masses with absolutely nothing.

I know the discussion of a two core machine running two services has been covered. My question is I have read , you cannot run two instances of folding on the media center version due to the fact it does not support multi-threaded operations. Is there a way around this? I have a laptop running a AMD Turion 64x2 .

Thats acually a good speed , w/ a few tweaks like cablenut.com / using Van's settings,http://www.testmy.net/t-2097 you should be great

All areas have different basic packages, do you know the package you are paying for? such as 5 down and 7k up , may be the basic you have w/ TW ....??? BTW, you will have isuues w/ TW for a while as they get changed over. You also may want to DL and run spybot.com . I suspect you may have other issues , if you found a virus that quickly Bots or any kind of maleware you have contracted w/o an antivirus prog will kill your speed by hogging the bandwidth It is also good to have a router , in the network to stop a whole plethora of issues, if you dont already have one

Freakin awesome!.......The only thing I would have done differently , would have been to get a matched pair of mem sticks, so they play nicer together, in dual channel during high demands Nice ass heat sink And for the PS, a dual 12v rail , in case you add another GPU at some time .

I hear that Gothic 3 does that, unless I have at least 50+ mods running, the latest patch makes it minimize to the desktop on start-up Glad to see you found it though.
