FallowEarth Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 Welcome to the forum, amish. Please start by reading here: http://www.testmy.net/forum/t-2097 Looks like you are on RR's 8/512 package. Once you get to the cablenut section, try using the 'Cable & DSL 10000' custom file from VanBuren's v.8. Other members on your package have had luck with that. REV0LUTI0NIZED Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 Where are you located at? because some people from Florida and NY have been upgraded to speeds advertised too 7Mbps/52Kbps.
DJVageli Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 Yup most users in Florida have the 7000/512 package..most of the country under TWC should get these speeds by March 1 or by June from what I have heard..most likely you have gotten it already...like Revolutionized said..where are you located so it can confirm with the upgrades planned? FallowEarth Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 I know that Tampa Bay has upped the basic packed from 5 down to 7, because they also have the 10/1 and 15/2 packages. I haven't heard of any other areas doing the same.

richcornucopia Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 If twc upgrades does this mean earthlink's speeds will also go up cause they just resell timewarner?
FallowEarth Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 You can say its in the works Sweet deal. If twc upgrades does this mean earthlink's speeds will also go up cause they just resell timewarner? It's likely that Earthlink won't be too far behind. brock01 Posted February 25, 2006 CID Share Posted February 25, 2006 well if you have earthlink then you prolly will be upgraded cause its the exact same thing as rr, cept you have earthlink software, so if brighthouse or twc gives you the connection then yes if the update does come as i have earthlink with brighthouse feeding us the connection and i just uninstall the earthlink software

Plus, since cable is shared, the ISP puts the caps on the modems. This means that, whether the network is faster or not, the ISP determines whether they will raise the caps. Earthlink and RR may have different gameplans.
marik1234 Posted March 13, 2006 CID Share Posted March 13, 2006 Will I get it? I'm in Queens, NYC, NY. I have Earthlink from Time Warner, so it's basically RR, I got the 5/384 package.

So far TWC is working in Queens...they are replacing amp boxes...working on the nodes...basically trying to get as much done before FIOS takes over...also some people have seen sporadic increases in Astoria where I live and other parts of Queens..so for now,its only a matter of time

marik1234 Posted March 19, 2006 CID Share Posted March 19, 2006 Hey DJVaggo, I see we both have the same ISP's, Earthlink's 5000/384. Do you know by any chance when TWC will be finished here in Queens and when they'll be finished with the speed upgrades? And also when FIOS will arrive here in Queens? Thnx.
